We did a cycle tour with Andy from a Smooth Cycles, my daughters snd I met him at Pier 5 where we caught the fast ferry over to Cheng Chau Island.
Andy gave us a bit of a history of Hong Kong in the way.
Once on the island we were given our bikes, really comfortable and easy to ride.
We visited Pak Tai Temple where we burnt incense sticks and had the opportunity to pray a wonderful experience.
We visited the Community Hall where Andy explained about the Bun festival that they have on the island.
We had the opportunity to go to a Souvenir Shop and shop for local handmade goods, Andy got us some local street food to try.
We cycled to East Bay where we saw the damage made by the typhoon and the famous stone cravings.
We went to Cheung Chau seafood and fruit and veg market where we saw the freshest seafood. Andy explained that people come and choose their seafood for restaurants to cook for them.
We then cycled to West Bay where we got the local ferry back to the pier.
Andy explained things along the way, we cycled through small streets and through the local neighbourhood.
The cycling tour is geared for anyone who can cycle, it was about 6km some small uphill areas but generally flat and very enjoyable. Thank you Andy.
