The area
Neighbourhood: Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.

Been going to HK for the longest time but I never came across this place till someone recommended it. Wishing for some old discontinued LEGO sets but somehow what is sold is mostly recent sets. Some hard to find new diecast cars and vintage robots if you are into these.

In's Point is located along Nathan Road just north of the Yau Ma Tei MTR Station that is a hub for toy collectibles. Here you will find an old commercial building with two floors filled with arcade sized shops dealing in speciality Lego sets, figurines, models and other interesting collectibles.

Shops open from around noon each day until late. It can get a bit crowded here on weekend afternoons as buyers and admirers browse the little shops and glance through the glass windows in search of specific toys as well as rare and hard to find sets or items to add to their collections. Even if you are not a buyer, this is a neat place to see how far the world of toys has come since you were a little one.

I don't know how I missed In's Point before in my numerous travels to Hongkong, but I am glad I have found it now and I was surprised how many levels there were.

There are a lot of new toys, kitset models, figures and collectables here. There are toys that are expensive, some cheap, some market price (some do vary from shop to shop), but you don't have to spend money here; many are small second hand toys for by-gone years and hold special nostalgic value and a trip down yesteryear is a treat in itself.

The shops do open quite late in the day, however, time before opening meanswindow shopping. That itself can take hours. I've put three hours for the visit, it's atleast 2 visits and it will be more than three hours total if you want to look at everything.

When shops are open, there is little moving space! Some are 'poke-your-head-in-only' and some are "no turning space: walk-out-backwards". Because there can be a lot of people here, it can get hot, and bring shopping bags or an empty tote; ackpacks get in the way of everyone.

When going to Hong Kong, husband wanted to increase his Star Wars and other collections and read this was the place to do it.

Each little shop you just walked along and poked your head into to see whether they had anything you wanted. This place has everything. And also a great place to leave the hubby and son whilst daughter and I shopped :)

Come after 3pm and bring cash and bargain. Let’s just say we had to buy another suitcase.

Lots of little shops with different genre of toys are concentrated in the building. It can be hard to spot the place though.

Don't waste time buying LEGO from other places. here is the one and only. Hard-to-find sets are easily found here at good price. Kenson's Toy Shop, the first shop you find at the end of the escalator, is very superbly recommended. Don't waste time comparing prices :)

In’s Point, along with Richmond Shopping Arcade are two places packed with all manner of pop culture, anime and collectible figurines.

In’s Point is much larger, huge in fact, with many levels and very wide space, but dense with tiny shops which are themselves dense with toys and collectibles.

This place was absolutely heaving with people when I went, and I get the feeling it’s always like this. As such it may not be the best idea to go with kids, especially if they like to run off to gaze at the next most interesting thing they see, as there’s a lot of that here. If you can keep them close and under control they’ll likely have a blast looking at Lego, Beyblades, Pokemon, and many other favourites.

There are the obligatory busty girl figurines here too so bear that in mind if you want to avert your kid’s innocent eyes :)

I would say this place is fun in small doses, or if you’re looking for something specific. The crowded halls got a bit much for me, but you’re almost bound to find at least one or two things that tickle your fancy.

Expect to walk shoulder to shoulder to other visitors. It's always crowd. A lot of stores and all sell toys. Crazy price. All price mostly fix already since it's already below SRP. Really recommended.

If you're a fan/collector of LEGO, model cars, action heroes etc then worth a visit. Would suggest only if you know what you're looking for and are a serious shopper - this isn't like the LEGO store. Lots of hard to find or no longer on sale LEGO sets available here.

Lots of cool stuff, if you're planning on buying take cash (although there's an HSBC opposite outside) and a bag to carry your purchases!
