This coffee shop inside the mall really knows how to make coffee. If you know what you’re talking about coffee should not be piping hot to get the best taste, it should actually be warm, so many of you reading this may not be used to that from most coffee shops. The beans here taste amazing, and mild. They did a first rate job with the presentation and Rosetta

The non-African maitre d seemed more interested in flirting with isolated female patrons of the cafe, rather than working along his job description. I sat there with intention to do my work, and could hear him blatantly voicing his dislike of my kind of folk there (I’m a bearded Sikh). I immediately packed up and left, on the way out I told one of the friendly waiters that I could hear everything he said.

But the waiters and waitresses of African descent are awesome as all Kenyans can be; the giant of a doorman has a beautiful smile!

I have been to this mall a few times when I have visited Kenya and this is before the tragedy that happened there. My favourite part of it was the Massai market on the roof top that offered you wide range of Kenyan Artisans selling all sorts. I bought a few paintings carvings and hope when they re build the market can be part of it again. The traders will try and add 20% on the actual value of the items but don't be put off....... batter and keep battering as you will get what you want in the end. The mall is in an excellent location and does indeed have what you need.

It does not give out the same vibe it used to years ago. The place is filled with several high end stores, other than that there's not much one can do at the place except for movies and food. Less crowded than other malls around the city.

The Westgate shopping mall has had a disastrous history, but now it is clean, modern and very usable. The arts and crafts stalls must be investigated as there are many bargains to be had - barter a little. Lunch, snack or coffee, and ample parking make this mall a delight in Nairobi.

Though security is thorough and most reasuring, both on cars and in person, sadly the memory of the 2013 attack lingers in the number of vacant shops and a rather Marie Celeste feel. Nakumatt (supermarket) is no longer there to pull people in. The shops range from phone shops and Forex to a fascinating English bookshop, a mainstream Bata and HealthyU wholefood shop which has a good selection. There are craft stalls within the mall with some stylish jewellery and souvenirs, and on the day we visited,a
wine and chocolate tasting, so the mall owners are doing their best to bring people in.The main reason to visit is the fairly-priced work-friendly ArtCafe which has a great all day menu, smoothies, coffees and is a favoured place for informal business meetings. There are a few quiet tables for work upstairs, while a shaded terrace gives a view of streetlife.
