our guide Mr. Abdalla Mohamed from Blue Sky Tours accompanied us on an excellent tour, we stopped at a village, we visited little shops and were offered camel rides but since I am an animal activist i declined.

My fiancé and I booked the Glory of Nubia for a one night trip. It was a very scenic and relaxing ride, and one of the most memorable parts of our vacation in Egypt. Cruising the Nile at sunset on a sailboat with just the two of us was unforgettable - moreso because I also got down on one knee an popped the question! Thanks to Abdo and the crew for facilitating everything! One thing to note is that, with the one night cruise, you won't get too far up the Nile (we mostly stayed around the port of Aswan) and I wish we had booked a 2 or 3 night package. At the time of our visit, Egypt's tourism industry was quite slow but we never felt unsafe and I would definitely encourage others to consider Egypt (and the Glory of Nubia) for their travel plans.

My friends and I visited Aswan last March and we decided to take a one-night cruise on the Glory of Nubia. The boat is still in good condition. In fact it was renovated this year and it's still one of the best looking boats on the Nile. Oucha, the Captain, and his assistants were very helpful and extremely friendly during our journey. In fact I've known them for almost 10 years and everytime I visit Aswan I sail on their boat. The first day we sailed in the archipelago of Aswan upstream until we reached the village of Gharb Sheil. On the way we visited the Monastery of St Simeon. We moored on the shore of the west bank and from there we rode camels uphill to the monastery. A must-do in Aswan. In Gharb Sheil we took a long walk in the village and looked at the colourful and bright houses. We even visited some houses and drunk Karkadeh, a traditional drink made of hibiscus flowers. In the afternoon we had a wonderful lunch in a Nubian house (completely forgot the name). It's one of the first houses that one sees when sailing upstream, from north to south. In the evening we stopped at one of the private islands in the archipelago, located close to the Mausoleum of Agha Khan. The crew prepared a dinner around a campfire and later in the evening 20 Nubian men from the near villages joined us and we had a wonderful Nubian dance party. In the following day we started sailing at sunrise. That was the highlight of our journey. What a feeling to sail on the Nile while listening to the Muezzins calling for the morning prayer! Despite all the joy that I felt in Aswan and during our sailing journey, I was also sad to see this city almost empty. No tourists whatsoever. Our boat was the only one saiting on the Nile. What a pity!

I was on the boat with my family and it was excellent. It is something very different from being on a big cruise ship. This is a more environmentally friendly way to do it and also a much more authentic experience. Abdo, the boat manager organized everything very well. The boat crew was excellent, knew their job well and very friendly. It would be an excellent idea to have a guide on the boat - or at least an English speaking crew member. The crew was excellent but could not speak English - so we could not interact much with the crew. Overall it was an amazing experience and I'd definitely do it again.

Our sailing day on the Glory of Nubia was an adventure that left a memorable mark in our hearts. Everything on that felucca was more than perfect. The oriental atmosphere, crew, WONDERFUL food, songs, dance etc etc etc... The Glory of Nubia is an adventure to be recommended, ABSOLUTELY. It was one of the best tours we had in Egypt. Thank you for the crew and the Freelancers who customized our visit to Egypt. Liz
