I embarked on an otherworldly adventure at Palau's renowned "Jellyfish Lake," and oh, what a marvel of nature it was! over thousands of golden, stingless jellyfish surrounded me, and the experience felt surreal and magical, like stepping into a dream. As I snorkeled in the lake, these ethereal creatures gracefully glided around me, filling me with wonder and tranquility. Need to hike a bit before arrive the lake which tested my fitness, but the reward was beyond compare—the chance to connect profoundly with nature. However, I must mention that the water quality was a bit unclear on that day. Nevertheless, I cherished the moment with swimming with jellyfishes. It's an enchanting journey, and the memory lingers long after leaving—a must-do for any Palau traveler seeking to be truly enchanted beneath the waves.

Remember, do not put sunscreen before go there, which to essential to preserve the delicate ecosystem and all jellyfishes.

There are no jellyfish any more. It cost 100 to enter, but all the golden jellyfish are dead. Just a few white. It is not worth the price

The jellyfish lake is about 10-15 minutes walk from the boat ramp, up and down a steep hill with steps and rope to hold on. I did it using my crocs closed toe sandal with backstrap. it was a lot of fun swimming with sun and moon jellyfish. You need to hike with your snorkeling gear and any camera equipment so a mesh bag is a good idea. Our group spent 1.5 hours on the lake. We must use eco friendly sunblock that is not harmful for the jellyfish.

Jellyfish lake was part of our stops during a day-trip diving week. We were expecting tons of tourists kicking and screaming all over the place - Turns out it was only us and the millions of jellyfishes! Totally worth an hour.

Jelly Fish Lake is a snorkeling adventure into a fresh water lake where there are a bunch of non-stinging jelly fish swimming around. It makes for some great photos, and is very unique for sure, but I have not found it so exciting that I have returned to repeat it on subsequent trips. You should definitely do it once if you haven't done it before. I found Peleliu island tour and diving in Chandelier Cave to be far more interesting for my tastes.

Before I start my review I recommend doing a private tour by Captain John (680) 778-7333. He ended up being cheaper than the tours. We found him through the Palau Visitors Bureau and i'm sad we didn't know him before we spent a bunch of money doing a day tour with a bunch of other people. He took us early to the lake and we were THE ONLY ONES THERE!! It was amazing to see it so quiet and not flooded with people.

Anyways....
When you arrive to the island you have to wash off with freshwater and there is a small hike uphill to get to the lake. When you get to the lake depending on the time of day you have to swim to them, they arent just there (not complaining just stating). So we swam to the other side of the lake and they were. The first time when we went with a tour company there were a bunch of people with us and also other tour groups going in and out of the lake so it was cool to see but lots of traffic. Again, I recommend going on a private boat so you can really take your time.

Jellyfish Lake had just reopened. It was incredible. We got to pet some of the jelly fish accidentally of course.

Stopped at Jellyfish Lake while on SCUBA liveaboard. Incredibly unique location----non-stinging Jellyfish live in this lake isolated from ocean. Able to snorkel through massive swarms. Amazing visuals.
Somewhat challenging hike from ocean-side dock up and over ridge to lake.

Words can't describe hoe Magical and enchanting this is and a must see for all ages. A bit of a hike but we'll worth it! Videos on Google won't do justice to the feeling of silently gliding into the lake with these magical and majestic denizens of this lake.

If the thought of snorkeling amidst thousands of jellyfish grosses you out, this place is not for you. However if the idea of snorkeling amongst countless jellyfish that have lost their ability to sting appeals to you by all means visit jellyfish lake. There is a very high government fee to visit the Lake but it is well worth it if you can afford to pay. There is a short but very steep hike up and down a staircase to reach Jellyfish Lake.
