    Grand Palace in Muscat
We went to the palace grounds in the evening. This is possibly the best time to visit the palace grounds - given the weather. There is adequate parking which is available at the site. You are likely to come across a huge number of tourists who come to visit this place daily. Again some beautiful sights to be captured on the camera.

    Interesting architecture
One of the compulsory stops on any guided tour, so you will likely see it when visiting Muscat. It's interesting architecture, but not particularly impressive; the government buildings across the street, and the Portuguese fort in the background, are much more grandiose. Nevertheless, worth a short stop.

Although Not Open to the Public, DO Visit This Lovely Gem Set Among Hillside Fortresses!
Also known as "The Sultans Palace", this site is not open to the public. However, it is worth visiting this lovely little gem. Behind a large palatial gate, it's appearance is very unique. Like a jewel box it appears to be in immaculate condition sitting on a manicured lawn filled with mounds of flowers. The picture is completed by the fortresses standing watch on the surrounding hillsides. A parking garage and several lots are within a block.

Although the Palace was quite beautiful, I was much more impressed with its surrounding layout/area and its pristine maintenance. All of the surrounding areas and buildings etc were all picture perfect. A must-visit when visiting Muscat Oman.

Certainly kept in a regal manner. Min guards. Grand. Can only see through metal gate. Good enough for photos only. Well maintained place.

Beautiful city palace in the heart of old Muscat. The construction is very different and click worthy.

You can only see it from outside, but the whole complex is just beautiful, like from a fairy story, colorful and very big

Something to visit if you’re passing by, just because it’s an significant part of your Oman tour. You are not permitted inside, but if you are with a tour guide, he/she will keep you upto speed with the surroundings and everything there is to know about the palace
