- betteskidBoston, Massachusetts1,310 contributionsBeautiful and interesting place to visitWe visited these gardens during our stay in Haifa. We learned quite a bit about the Baha'i faith and the gardens are beautiful. They can be seen from above of by arranging a special time to enter, although some parts are only open to those of the Baha'i faith. This is a very worthwhile stop.Visited November 2022Written 11 December 2022
- Swantje W13 contributionsBeautiful gardens.Make sure you book the free tour to get access to the Upper Gardens. Go to the exact address given in your email. The gardens are beautiful. The only unfortunate thing is that the opening hours of the shrine don’t coincide with the tour times. I will have to come back to view the shrine another time. A beautiful gift to the people indeed, thank you!Visited January 2023Written 2 January 2023
- stephrabNew York City, New York720 contributionsReason to come to Haifa (but there are many other reasons to stay for a few more nights)This is a world class experience on the level of visiting the Taj Mahal in India, the Washington Monument in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It really is a must when visiting Israel (too bad so many people ignore this - for reasons I have never understood). Try to reserve a free tour so you can actually visit the gardens beyond just a few small parts. Do NOT rush. Just a stunning experience.Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 1 March 2023
- jeng2mayoSan Jose, California91 contributionsGarden Paradise of HaifaBahai Garden was the highlight of Haifa when we visited the city on March 19, 2023. The stunning terraced garden has many colorful flowers and well-maintained lawns and shrubberies. The stairs leading down to the main temple offered a great vantage viw of Haifa's port and city. The mood was serene and harmonious that reflected the pillars of their Bahai Faith. The access to this wonderful garden is free. However, prospective visitors must register for an appointment slot at their official website. Most tourist were only shown the view from the top. We saw many tourist buses stopped for photos from the veranda on top of the garden. We did not see groups of tours going through the garden. Taking a bus from the main train station to the top entrance was easy. It was one bus ride with several stops. Google maps worked really well in transits here in Haifa.Visited March 2023Written 12 August 2023
- Gail AToronto, Canada7 contributionsBeautiful Baha’i GardensThe Baha’i Gardens in Haifa are spectacular! We booked a tour and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. The history of the Baha’i faith was something new to me and it was fascinating. The background of the gardens was also very interesting. Well worth the trip to Haifa. There was a second guide with our group, Lena, who came over to our 21 year old daughter to make sure her shoulders were covered. As my daughter struggled to get her wrap in place and said “I’m trying” to which Lena replied “try harder” My kid has anxiety and had a panic attack on the steps in the garden. Lena was unbelievably rude and condescending. She told me I needed to do “something about this” and we should probably leave. She then encouraged us to leave immediately because we were now behind the group. I apologized for being inconvenient and said we would catch up and continue. Which we did but it was very disappointing to have a guide be so obnoxious in such a beautiful place. Another thing to note: the restrooms are under renovation and there is no toilet anywhere close by. You are probably 15-20 minutes from a bathroom.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 August 2023

From the entrance at the top, you have wonderful view over the city and the Mediterranean Sea. We've been lucky enough to entrer the terrasses, though it seems like it's not always possible. Nonetheless, simply the views from up there are worth the visit.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 September 2023
- Trevor M3 contributions10/10, would highly recommend for anyone seeking a serene escape with a side of architectural brilliance. The architectural design of the gardens is mind-blowing. The way the steps seamlessly blend with the natural landscape is simply genius. Whether you're a nature lover, an architecture enthusiast, or just someone looking for a quiet spot to contemplate life, the Baha'i Gardens tick all the boxes. It's not just a garden; it's an experience that leaves you feeling refreshed and, dare I say, a bit enlightened.Visited March 2023Travelled soloWritten 14 November 2023

Amazing view, beautiful garden. It’s a religious place so dress accordingly. It 700 steps to walk down, so have sensible shoes. Not for children or people with bad knees/legs.

The gardens are very pretty and worth stopping to see. We weren't able to go inside but we were able to enter the viewing area.

Start at the top and walk down!!! The is a "two-fer"! First look out at Haifa Bay and the beautiful slope downwards at the gardens and then slowly walking down and examine the details.

Hi, I have few questions.
1. How much time walking is it from Haifa's HaShmona train station to the B'hai Gardens?
2. Is there any Kosher fastfood businesses nearby?
3. Is the entrance to the B'hai Gardens require payment?

I believe so. We had a private tour with a member of the Bahai faith.
