This walk gave an unforgettable experience. Overall, it took about 5 hours - we took a leisurely step, stopping periodically for long photo shoots. It's nice to walk, no debilitating heat. The smells of grass and the noise of the mountain will accompany you. I wasn't even lazy and I made a little four-minute video, so impressed was it. I invite everyone to see:) https://disk.yandex.ru/i/SWRP_u6MLRn-Hg

This mountainous area is as far as ala archa NP from Bishkek. There is no entry fee to get here. It's a great walk and a much easier one. There are few restuarants and cafes in the end of the road that seemed to offer more variety than ala archa, we didn't try it though. This place is more frequented by locals than tourists. In the end of the road there is a Soviet era heated swimming pool that uses water from a hot spring. Entry is 200KGS for an hour as of Oct 2017. Nothing special about it, but a good swim after few hours hike.

A lovely trek along a beautiful gorge to visit a glacier. Scenery is beautiful and if you don't want to trek just stay be the water and admire the horses who come to drink - horses welcoming each other and mares feeding foals.

Alamedin Gorge is interesting because of its beauty, easy track and location near Bishkek. After one hour of ride you enter the picturesque valley. The main attraction is the small waterfall in the middle of the valley. The route leads through alpine meadows surrounded by snowy peaks. Views are really spectacular. The hike to waterfall takes approximately 2 hours. There is the old Soviet spa resort in the beginning of the valley.

Much easier hike than ala-archa, but scenery is nice as well. Not as well marked and lot's of animal boo around, but those are minor minuses. Same side as car park has better views. The bridge to cross river is right in the start. We missed it first but found it on the way back.

The Alamedin Gorge near Bishkek is a lovely natural area with some easy hiking trails, very accessible and you will have many chances to see some more of Kyrgyzstans magnificent scenery. We spent most of a day exploring the gorge, having a picnic in a beautiful spot and enjoying all that was on offer.

This and few other places should be fist in a tracking guide for Kyrgyzstan!
Nature is amazing here, air is so clean so you would like to stay there forever :)
There is also a waterfall. This waterfall in winter is something from fairy tale.
By the way there are few routes for everybody (+ it's pretty easy to find those even without a map).
I think you can even take your kids with you.
And don't forget that this place is around 30 kilometers away from Bishkek i.e. pretty close.
Enjoy!

One of my favorite day hikes near Bishkek! Especially beautiful during the spring and early summer, when alpine flowers are in bloom. Walk through alpine meadows, along alpine streams, horse and cow pastures, see the waterfall, while surrounded by beautiful snow-patched peaks.
