A market where you can buy almost everything for pretty cheap prices (not quite the variety of markets in Bangkok or so but still good) . Markets luckily seem to be less bargaining based so even tourists will get a pretty good price up front. The food court is amazing - try the special mango vinegar that every food stand in the market has, it's delicious!

I wandered through the Russian Market to see how average folks shop in Phnom Penh. I love these markets in SE Asia. Here they sell almost everything, and it is an excellent place to just watch people. My guide and I enjoyed a stir fry lunch and ice coffee at a little food stand in the market ...... lunch for two was $5. The great thing about Cambodia is that everybody/everyplace accepts USD, so no currency conversions are necessary. I would definitely recommend a stroll through this Market.

Walkable from Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (around 1.2 km). Such a wonderful place to buy souvenirs & even vehicle parts, chainsaws, etc!
We bought a piece of leather handcraft for $7, only a dollar discount even after hard bargaining. Some souvenirs such as fridge magnets might not be worth more than $4.
You might get lost & walk in the same alley again & again..hehe

This market has a bit of everything.
A wet market, clothing, shoes, some restaurant and drink stalls, souvenirs, paintings, sculptures, even a section with car parts!...
Was ok, but if you have been to any other markets in SEA then this one is pretty much the same.

Russian Market has a lot of options for shopping. The quality is average though. Fun place to shop! We found some good winter wear and stoles. Lot of options in T shirts as well. Wish we could also have found good quality cotton dresses and Tshirts.

Multiple locals told me I had to visit the Russian Market during my stay in Phnom Penh, and even though I had already been to the Central Market and Night Market, I decided to give it a shot.
One thing that you need to know before going here is that this market is pretty tight-quarters. Do not go if you are a claustrophobic person. It's also closed-air which means it gets pretty hot during the day and also traps all the different scents and aromas in one place (put on my mask as it just wasn't a pleasant smell in some areas).
I will say there is a ton of different things and sections to browse, only problem is that most of the stuff sold is knock off or cheap Chinese stuff. I bought Angkor Beer and Tiger Beer shirts for 8 bucks together, but other than that nothing really caught my attention.
Ultimately I think the Central Market is more pleasant to walk around, and the Night Market's close proximity to Riverside also makes it a better bet as well.

Loved the vibe and assortment of stalls! Loads to see and buy. Found the ‘singing bowls’ I was after after being lead straight to the relevant stall!

I would say this place was similar to other outdoor markets but mostly consisting of souvenirs.
I bought an Apsara small figure display.
I would come here again because it shows many stuff that I can't find in other places.
I saw that there was a review saying not so Russian. So I just wanted to tell everyone behind the name of the Russian Market.
I did some research and the reason was because: The market became popular with foreigners in the 1980s when most of its visitors were Soviets who lived in the area.

If you are looking for cheap Chinese stuff this is the place but expect everything terrible quality, we were looking for souvenirs from the place, at least a magnet but they were all awful and only a few local things. I didn’t like it was a waste of time.

This market it's more about art and craft. If you want daily kitchen stuff, better to go on "Orussey" market.

Can we take a tuk tuk to the markets or should we book an actual tour of the various markets? Also can you buy knock off designer items? I did a lot of that shopping in Phuket.

Why it is Russian Market I dont know . If you expect to see Russian products you will not meet your expectations. Its a market place with thousands small stalls . You can find garments ( T shirt ,short ,different ladies wear ) leather product ,souvenir ,perfumes ,jewelry even local first food . Quality wise average but best part is cheap price . Bargaing will give you good dividend . If lucky one can see live musical stage show free.
