The art work is varied and variable in quality but the setting is the star. A lovely exterior and the kind of slightly shabby interior that says so much about the city.

We really enjoyed this gallery. The presentation is a little dated and the place could do with a face lift, but it is well worth a visit. There is some really good stuff in here.

Buildings are spectacular but with the exception of the air conditioned rooms upstairs the collection is poorly presented and curated. Which could be excused were it a good collection but it is not.

Unfortunately, again Ho Chi Minh City museum are a bit disappointing! The building is marvellous as well the history behind it (Franco-China residence) and we managed to use the lift (the first lift installed in Saigon) before they realised that was left open (I do not think you are supposed to use it: lack of health and safety for sure!). Done bits of the modern paintings are good and building 3 that house pottery and carvings and bronze is definitely more attractive to me. Will I go back? No!…
