Now nowhere and and no time was I informed that you could not take your own alcohol into the event. Yer after 10 minutes of being there, the apparent owner grabbed all of my alcohol, and just topped it away into the bushes, informing me that he had told me 3 times that I could not drink outside alcohol at this 'festival' I told him that I only had arrived 10 minutes before and had no idea I couldnt drink my own drink and this was even backed up by the lovely lady at the gate who had just let me in, so I couldn't possibly have been told 3 times before I couldn't take my own drink in, as I only had just arrived! With a bag that wasn't checked at all on the way in. Thank you for that young lady, that was appreciated. But now it was too late, I had spent 250k on a ticket for 10 minutes of sitting on a chair and instead of being able to take my drink outside, it was just immediately emptied into the bushes. Now I have no idea why this would make sense because if he was honest and had just said "sorry you can't drink you own alcohol here" I would have apologised and taken it outside and then returned and spend the extautionate about they try to charge for beer However he clearly lied and just lace is daylight robbery, which is ironic considering the name, I had to pay 250k for a festival ticket that started at 1pm and finished at 6am, I however had othe plans and didn't arrive until around 1am, the festival was advertised for the treehouse but that closed and midnight and everyone was sent to the other side of Hanoi to a place called the lighthouse. Now I have no idea why this would make sense because if he was honest and had just said "sorry you can't drink you own alcohol here" I would have apologised and taken it outside and then returned and spent the extortionate amount they try to charge for beer However he clearly lied and just didn't care. Now they try to charge 50k for 1 kind of beer, which is their cheapest and is also available at the shop 2 minutes away for 10k.i was then forced out of the venue for simply saying that I had only arrived 10 minutes ago and therefore couldn't possibly be told I couldn't drink any other alcohol except their terrible 50k 33cl beers on the premises. After the owner realised his mistake he ran off and left me with a girl who said 'ran' the event and that I should leave without acknowledging any of her Co workers arguments that I had just arrived! She was rude and arrogant and considering the massive variety of bars and clubs in hanoi and old quarter itself, I would never recommend attending the lighthouse unless you enjoy incredibly bad customer service and incredibly expensive alcohol considering the area and multitude of other options available in the area. This is the first and hopefully the last time I will be so angry and annoyed with any place to actually write such a review, but this is just an honest warning to anyone visiting or living in the area, to not waste time and money going here as they don't care about customer service and just try to take money off people.
