Really depends on how much you drink 😀. There's a happy hour on the boat with 2 for 1 cocktails and the beer isn't expensive. If you go to Cat Ba island you'll buy your dinner and I can recommend the Green Mango which is just along the front, they also do happy hour and great cocktails. It's also nice to leave a thank you for the crew of the boat and your Vega guide. There's also a stop on the bus at a factory which employs disabled people and you can buy souvenirs. Sorry I can't give you a figure but too many variables here. Places on shore take Visa, but maybe about $30 person?

Hi there. You can do two nights on a boat, but my memory is that the people that did that changed boats as it was to be more luxurious with an evening banquet on the second night. This is also considerably more expensive. We were happy with the one night on the boat and seeing Cat Ba town the 2nd night, having self funded local dinner and drinks. Hotel was 3 star.so depending how much you wish to spend and how much you want the 3nd night and dining on the boat. I think you would see as much in the bays either way as it is only moving st night. Demographics of group was mainly late 20 to late 30s. Probably as it is pretty active with the cave trips, kayaking, cycling and hiking. (Or you could just stay on the boat). We are much older but it wa fine for us. We are Hope that helps.
