About
Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is the first ethical elephant sanctuary in Phuket. We put the welfare of our elephants first and do not offer bathing, rides, shows, mud bathing, trunk hugging, elephant kisses, sitting on or lying on the elephants, loud noisy groups, or people constantly crowding around the elephants. If you think of an elephant living life in the forest surrounded by the sounds of nature then this is what we offer. Our tours offer Education, Interaction, and Observation. Visitors enjoy an up-close encounter with our beautiful elephants during the feeding program, then we walk with the elephants, stand back and observe as they roam, bathe, play, and socialise naturally, free from human touch. We give our elephants back their lives and their dignity, and in doing so, our guests get to learn about how incredible the largest land mammal on earth truly is. We look forward to welcoming you. Morning and Afternoon visits, reservations required, transportation available.

Wonderful experience learning and interacting with rescued old and injured elephants. Eye-opening. Educational Heartwarming and will motivate you to be more kind to all animals. Our guide was very knowledgable and kind. Memorable experience that teaches about ethical treatment of the beloved thai elephants. Lovely overall.

Best choice of the holiday. Highly recommended. This sanctuary guarantees elephant happiness and safety. Tourists are often not aware of what the elephants are put through circuses, riding business etc. Do not support animal cruelty and go to phuket elephant sanctuary to help them save even more elephants.

Save the elephants! It's a shame places like this have to exist. But this place offers a new life for injured and elderly elephants, some off them needing round the clock care. It's amazing what these guys do for them!

Good place to know about the habitat of elephants and its behaviour. The tour consists of 15 mins video and an hour walk around to know each elephants. It’s a sanctuary to take good care of the abused or retired elephants from it’s working industries.

It was amazing! You first get a little educational video about the the cause and what they try to do here. Then you walk around the jungle and your guide explains to you the story of each elephant you encounter and also what there personality is like. It was amazing! The food and drinks are really nice and a lot more than what we expected! You get a snack buffet when you arrive and for lunch you get a buffet as well with a lot of food to choose from. Would really recommend this experience to everyone even though its quite expensive.

This was an excellent tour. We researched where to go based on the treatment of the elephants and human access to them before we chose this one. As a Sanctuary we wanted to make sure we were merely observers, not interfering with their lives by touching, riding or bathing them. And this place did just that. There were 13 rescued elephants from logging, riding or tourism when we were there, with the goal of 24 elephants. There is a handler for every elephant as they cannot survive in the wild on their own. There are sad stories for each one of them, but they are well cared for here. We did get to feed the elephants fresh food provided by the guides from a distance. We took the canopy walkways to watch the elephants without interference. Then we wandered the grounds with the guide and if the elephants chose to come near us for pictures that was great, but if they chose not to, they just wandered away. I got some awesome pictures. I really felt my admission fee and donations were genuinely going to a great purpose. I would recommend this Sanctuary Tour.

We loved our experience and how much the staff care about the welfare of the elephants. We got to see the elephants eat and swim, and even fed them bananas and watermelon. The vegetarian lunch was delicious and the overall pace was good for our family, which included older members who tire easily. We definitely recommend!

Highly recommended. Elephants roam free, you are guaranteed to see them and you get to feed them. It is very clear they are being taken care of and that the people working here are passionate for their cause.
