- paul s34 contributionsThe Secret Garden was a discovery!I took a motorcycle taxi from Jomtien Beach to The Statue and Gardens. The Buddhas are stunning, but, right below the Temple was a closed off, unkempt Garden. Like a secret, i couldnt resist crossing the barriers! Im glad I did!Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 12 November 2023

I came across a night market later on and could find the same items for a less expensive price.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 January 2024
- Baylane61Huntington Beach, California396 contributionsGorgeous Big BuddhaWe took a 4 hour private tour for our group of 5. The Big Buddha Temple was our first stop. The Budha statue is tall and at the center at the end of a walking path with many steps. There are several other Buddha statues in the area too. At the back, the view of Pattaya city is great. The Big Buddha Temple is a must visit place in Pattaya.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 14 April 2024
- SiddiM186 contributionsThe Big Buddha Viewpoint in Pattaya, located on Pratumnak HillThe Big Buddha Viewpoint in Pattaya, located on Pratumnak Hill, offers one of the city's most breathtaking panoramic views. Overlooking Pattaya Bay and the bustling city below, the viewpoint is adjacent to the Big Buddha Temple, known for its towering 18-meter golden Buddha statue. Visitors ascend a staircase flanked by naga serpents to reach the summit. The viewpoint provides a serene escape from the city's hustle, with a tranquil atmosphere ideal for reflection and photography. It’s a favored spot for both tourists and locals, especially at sunset, capturing the vibrant beauty of Pattaya’s skyline and coastline.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 June 2024

This Bid Buddha statue could be seen from my hotel (Unique Regency Hotel) where I was staying so with the help of the hotel shuttle bus service I visited this statue on one of the evenings. Really nice and peaceful place and excellent views. That's why they call it the Big Buddha Hill instead of Pratamnak Hill, I guess ;-)

Like every Thai Temple you have all your statues to see, pray to, and have a chance to get a blessing from a monk.
It’s really impressive walking up the steps to the Big Buddha Statue, and behind the statue itself a great sight to see when you go up on a clear sunny day of the city. Extra points for a good cool breeze if you are so lucky to experience.
Free to visit, at least pay respects, and donate to support.

When in Pattaya do not miss this one. Many prebooked packages donot take you here , you can ask your hotel manager to book a local package for the city which includes few beautiful points including this one. Do not miss it. Its very very beautiful.

We recently visited the Big BuddhaTemple in Pattaya Thailand. As you climb the stairs you will get a great look at the beautiful main statue. After you reach the top you’ll see several other smaller statues that are indeed a sight to see. The whole temple area will take less than an hour to tour. It is definitely worth a visit but keep in mind that it is a tourist attraction. It is free to visit but Donations are how they keep it open.
If you go please remember it is a Temple. Dress appropriately and keep children under control.
You can get there by taxi or tuck-tuck from Pattaya Beach for 250 Thai baht or 5 usd. I recommend that you have your driver wait for you as transportation back isn’t readily available. You might have to wait for up to an hour for a ride.

Got to go to this if in Pattaya. Get a taxi there and take off your shoes and take a little walk around. There is maintainence going on now but still good opportunity for lots of photos. Not over commercialised although there are vendors. Great view for highest point. It’s a peaceful and almost spiritual and as a non religious man I found it a great experience.

On top of a hill.. 10 years ago. Perhaps the highest vantage point at that time. Fast forward to October 2020.. And this sanctuary has become lost in the urban sprawl that is Pattaya today.
Good views from the top on a clear day. No entrance fee. Several statues and little shops to purchase what ever religious items devotees may require.
At the bottom of the stairs there are some basic shops for drinks and snacks.
The stairs are an easy climb.. But i did not see any wheelchair signs or ramps for people that required mobility assistance.
Glad i got to check it off my list.
Would i recommend this site... Not so sure... I have seen other places nearby that has made a far greater impression.
The choice is yours ultimately.

The location of this temple is on a hill , a good point to see the city and the sprawling beach . The main idol is at present under renovation and is covered but one can have the idea of size.. A good place to visit if you are in Pattaya but not a must see

Went to make offering at hilltop Big Buddha Temple, roses and garland, candles, joss sticks, fire crackers and gold leaf all included in offering. Apart from the fire crackers, very peaceful place with great views out over Pattaya bay and the city below. Outdoor cafe area with shady trees and views over the city. Best food comprised toast and honey with banana slices, reasonably priced. Came away after 1 and 1/2 hour visit feeling very relaxed. Well worth a look, not just to pay your respects

Use an hour one afternoon to go to a place with peace and quiet (though you will find one Chinese tour group after the other). See the 9 Buddhas of Thailand, and enjoy the beautiful view of Jomtien and Pattaya.
Walking up there can be a bit strenuous, so go by grab, taxi or songthaew. The walk from the parking lot to the main Buddha is easy consisting of only 40 small steps

How much does Big Buddha Temple costs?
Written 31 December 2019
We are a family of 4 and looking forward to visit Sactuary of Truth, Art in paradise, Big Budha temple, Jomtein beach and back to hotel.
Which is the best and economical taxi we should take and how to book it?
Written 28 May 2019
YOU Won't be able to complete all in one go. Divide it into 2 days Big Buddha Pattaya viewpoint and jomtein beach. Take private tuk tuk from outside hotel road and it will charge you for Big Buddha somewhat between 100-130 baht for 1 way and Pattaya view point is just 500 mtr.
Day 2 sanctuary of truth and art in paradise.

I would also like to know what time of the day is best to visit , pls note that I have a 6 PM Alcazer show already booked for the same day .

Hi. I went with a private driver. But there were buses there. If you go with a private driver you can leave once you’ve finished your visit there. We were there around 9.30 am. It wasn’t quite busy. But still easy to walk around and up the steps to the Big Buddha and lookout. You have to take your shoes off before 10 am and after 4 pm
There are a lot of stalls there Selling souvenirs, clothing ,, sarongs All sorts of things. It was really good
Hope this helps

How to reach big Buddha from LK royal suites hotel Pattaya ... thanks
Written 19 November 2017
About half hour walk or 10 minutes by motor bike taxi. Taxis are not metres in Pattaya. So you could try the 10 baht bus going up Soi Buakao or walk to baech road and get a baht bus there. Take a baht bus from South Pattaya rd to Pratumnak and then walk. A taxi would be 200 baht each way and not worth using.

if we go to big buddha by motorbike, then we want to go to pattaya view point, which one better:
1. using motorbike from big buddha to pattaya view point, OR
2. just walking from big buddha to pattaya view point, after finished, walking back to big buddha where i parked the motorbike.
anyway, is there any motor bike parking space in big buddha? thank you very much.....
Written 23 October 2017
Do either. I walk but if you are tired use bike. Plenty of parking spaces ..no problem. Both the areas you mention are worth a visit so go to both.
