The trip up the mountain is cutting though beautiful mountain trees and views. The gardens must have been heaven on earth it is high time. Serene. And very peaceful. There is no upkeep of the site witch is a pity. A must see if you have some time.

Fun for the children. They played in the houses and huts and posed with the statues. We tied it in with a day tour which made it worth the visit. At the time it was 80baht to visit and that seems fine for an hour or fun.

It is not an easy ride to approach the place but truly worth it. This is the rainy season so the whole place looks like that a former city would sink under a huge amount of water.
Of course be careful as moss is everywhere so the rocks are really slippery and use a good mosquito spray before entering ;)

Cute place but it is not so big as I thought. You can see everything in 30 minutes stopping for photos. There is the creek with the waterfall and the buddha statues and I did not see much except for this, unless it is hidden. Still it is beautiful ydillic calm place.

It is one of the most important landmarks of Koh Samui Island. People visiting Koh Samui Island come to the garden as a part of their day trip or it is included in their tour package. In the garden, you can find numerous figurines in different poses – sitting down, standing, waving, dancing, and playing musical instruments. Besides the statues of gods and goddesses, you can also see animal sculptures in the park such as a bird pulling out a worm from the pond.
Note:
1- that you should wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes and be in good shape because you will need to walk great distances.
2-I advise you to book this trip with a group because most of the drivers are private, taking tourists and asking for large amounts of money.
The fee fee of 80 Baht per person.

This is a cute ancient place, where buddha statues are put everywhere near a small waterfall.
It looks like a fairy tale.

Such a unique thing to visit! A must for anyone who loves exploring and seeing unusual/cultural things. The secret Buddha garden was quiet magical as I was the only person there and had the whole place to myself. It would have been nice to know abit more about it and some history and meanings of the statues, however I enjoyed the mystery around it still. The journey up there is not impossible on a scooter like lots of people state, the road itself is in good condition you just need to be a confident driver as it is steep in some places and not a quick drive up either, took about 15 minutes to get up from the main road still. The cost to visit is 80tbh, there are toilets and refreshments available

A truely magical experience. Take a trip to another time and another world - beautiful scenery and well maintained grounds, statues & old school village/buildings. We drove a small car up the hillside - the roads are step and arrow in sections and can be a difficult/ sketchy drive - would recommend going with a tour or driver.

Do you think the place is suitable for a 4 months old baby?

I don’t think so, you have to move through arrow placed and stairs, it will be very hard with a infant or a child

We will be staying at a resort near the Lamai Night Market.
How easy is to rent a scooter? Are driving laws easy to learn? We are from the USA and would like to ride a scooter up to the Secret Buddha temple.
Also how easy is it to get to this destination via scooter?

It’s easy to rent a bike, but sometimes they keep your passport under the time and sometimes are the rent expensive so go around and look first.
In Thailand are they driving on the left side, so no. It’s not hard. But it’s much information at one time.
And were helmets, the police checking farangs a lot.
I always drive with a gps on my phone.

Can you hire a 4x4 to get up the last part?
We would get a taxi there but a normal taxi wouldn't make it up the final part would it?
How do people access the garden without booking on a tour?
Thank you

We booked a scooter and was able to drive up the hill easily. There are two routes, one requires a 4x4 the other does not. If you leave the waterfalls and turn right (not left as most people will tell you) you will see a 7-11, turn up the road and follow it. Abnormal car and scooter will get up the hill just fine. We did everything independently. Good luck!
Hi, is it possible to walk up the hill and if so how long will it take? or is a car needed to get to the garden?

No. Definitely wouldn't walk it - need a car or moped. It's pretty steep and no real paths.
