After looking online we decided to try here, after a walk that seemed to go on forever from the MRT Rama 1X station where you go along a long path past a few bars with music, you eventually reach the market, unfortunately it does not meet expectations for shopping. There are many food places but many of the shops are closed and not reopened since COVID. Our conclusion is there are better places in Bangkok which does not need a hike to get to it.

Heard that they rebranded few years ago so went there with my friend for the first time in 4 years. It was so clean than before. We ate at a seafood restaurant which we went last time. We loved how it is crowded and busy. It was in the middle of election so we cannot drink alcohol at all but the food was so good. I wish we also have this market in my country too.

One of those hidden gem (but everyone knows) kind of market. Lots of thifts vintage shops (if you are into) with curated jackets and band tees. plenty of photo opportunities as well with the vintage cars, neon signs and plane. Good atmosphere, not so crowded with rowdy and loud tourists (iykyk) A little far from the usual city center but worth the trip.

Virtually empty - obviously had a renovation. If you want to eat there are cafes and restaurants around the perimeter. The stalls primarily consists of T-shirt shops and nail salons.
Give it a body swerve until it reestablishes itself!

I viewed some reviews and did some research on this place before arriving on my holiday to Thailand.
I have to say I was quite disappointed and from what I had read it didn’t match what I saw.
The market I saw seemed to have been scaled down somewhat, maybe due to covid I don’t know.
The food stalls seemed to be catering to more of the locals with lots of seafood options. Most of the signs on the stalls didn’t have English translations of the menu options in comparison to other markets.
There is however a good hall right next to the market which has lots to choose from, which is clean and has plenty of seating and everything is cooked to order.

There are several of such night markets throughout Bangkok, and it is an essential part of your itinerary. You can enjoy the plethora of food and merchandise available at really reasonable prices. Space though, is a premium, and you must be prepared to stand elbow-to-elbow with others.

What is the name of this night market? I’m assuming there are other train night markets. I’m unable to view the website. Also is this just a weekend night market or is this open everyday? If it is open every day is it better to go on the weekend?

We went here during the morning using Bangkok tours to transport us too and back from our hotel, the market is all along the railway track with more shops, prices are same as the other markets within Bangkok, you need to always offer less than they ask!!

Generally, each item is in the range of 100-300 Baht. I did not find any bargaining happening there, but the goods are really inexpensive.
Another place where you can buy really cheap is Indra Place/Plaza during the day. The whole place is air conditioned. Bargain to your heart's content here. Here you get a large variety of things viz clothing, accessories, show pieces, traditional Thai items, etc, etc

I usually just get a taxi. Always ask how much before getting in. Price do vary wildly if you don’t ask how much first.
How to get there easily by public tranportation.?
