About
ASIATIQUE The Riverfront is an open-air mall that offers a dynamic combo of shopping, dining, sightseeing, and events—with scenic river views to boot. Here, you can pop into a large variety of shops selling clothes, souvenirs, bags, and more; sample authentic Thai cuisine at the night market; enjoy live music performances; and take a ride on the ferris wheel or carousel. You can even catch the Calypso cabaret and watch a Muay Thai fight. It’s best to get here via the free daily shuttle boat from Pier Sathorn as taxis and tuktuks (Thailand's three-wheeled open-air vehicles) encounter frequent traffic jams. – Tripadvisor

- India Travel ExpertMumbai, India17 contributionsOne time visit to AsiatiqueMust visit with family. Though the street style experience is created it still is like a mall. Go there in a river cruise ferry boat in 20 Baht from Vat Arun Temple.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 October 2023
- Gillian SJohannesburg, South Africa48 contributionsThumbs up for a different type of night market experienceWe had limited time in Bangkok on this visit and I am so pleased that we managed to fit in a visit to Asiatique one night. My only disappointment - I would have liked more time there before it started closing but we only got there after 10pm. We enjoyed the different 'market' style shopping (pricing seemed fair), and went on the Ferris wheel for a view over the river and the night lights. There are restaurants, the haunted castle and different sections to explore / shop. I would definitely return on a future visit to Bangkok, for the different character the place evokes, especially if they have more projects / exhibitions (there had recently been a Disney one.)Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 29 October 2023
- Deborah GCanberra, Australia17 contributionsYeah, noAsiatique feels a bit old and tired. Many many stores are closed. Those that are open are often selling merchandise which is much more expensive than other places around Bangkok such as MBK. Interesting for a short visit but if you are lacking time in fabulous Bangkok I wouldn’t bother.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 November 2023
- gcogarSydney, Australia37 contributionsA great place to watch the sun go downThis is a great place to watch the sun go down while enjoying a drink and something to eat. Getting there by river boat is easy and there is plenty to see and do there. We are at the Happy Fish and it was pretty good, especially the ice cream cone at the end of our meal which we ate on the boat ride back.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 December 2023
- AdhinaSouth Africa405 contributionsStunning location and fun night outBeautiful place to spend the night with bright lights and a good combination of restaurants, entertainment and shopping. Some market type shops are very competitively priced. Restaurants are a little expensive but worth the visit for the live entertainment and people watching. Also great that the free ferry runs quite lateVisited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 January 2024
- majCanberra, Australia12 contributionsDon’t prioritiseThe boat ride from Taksin Saphan is lovely (you may have to wait up to 30 mins), but Asiatique itself has seen better days. If you have been to Chatuchak (JJ) weekend market, you won’t see anything new at the market. The restaurants by the river are just OK. We had plenty of time in Bangkok, but if you only have a few days, don’t prioritise Asiatique.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 12 February 2024
- BeachBuddhaLeeds, United Kingdom669 contributionsGreat night outA great night out in bangkok. With a good choice of restaurants. A different vibe to everywhere else we visited. With a big wheel and merry go round. Lots of shops and eateries. It's free to access and lots of taxis & tuk tuks when you come out to get home.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 February 2024
- Stephen WSingapore, Singapore94 contributionsAsiatique - overhypedI visited Asiatique on 19.2.24 with my wife. We wanted to watch the show at Calypso and also to do some shopping. I rate the show as fairly good (6/10). All customers were given a complimentary soft drink. The hall was not very big and as such, you can see the dancers on stage quite clearly even if you were seated at the last row. The seats were arranged in tiers so that the you would not be blocked by the people seated on the tier in front of you. However, on each tier. there were 2 rows of seats, and if you were in the back row, you may be blocked by the people seated in front of you. Thus, when selecting your seat, choose those that are in the front of each tier. As for shopping, you can find practically anything under the sun. But then, you can also find the same things in other Bangkok malls. So, if you are going there just for shopping, it would be more convenient, and perhaps cheaper, if you go to a mall near your hotel. There were also many eateries. We had dinner at Sook Zaap. The large river prawn and vegetables were fairly good. However, the pineapple rice and the pork noodle soup were the most tasteless items that I have eaten in Thailand in my more than 40 years of visit. Even my Thai driver, who tasted the noodle soup said it was the worst that he had ever eaten.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 February 2024
- FlyBaconCamberley, United Kingdom216 contributionsColourful, but very touristy.Went for a walkaround in the evening. It was fairly busy for a Wednesday. The free shuttle boat had to stand-off for about 10 minutes to let a dinner cruise boat load/unload. Our return took quite a while as the shuttle boat arrived back at the transport hub 30 seconds after the Sheraton Shuttle boat left the dock. So, a half hour wait in the dark.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 March 2024

It shows that the pandemic did a number on small businesses. As a number of posters have said, half the shops are closed. That said, there is still a critical mass of shops (not an over abundance), and there are hordes of eateries. The place comes alive beginning at dusk. Don’t go out of your way to visit. But if you have some spare time, it’s worth a couple of hours one evening. It’s a particularly good market if you have children.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 18 March 2024

We visited ASIATIQUE the day after it had re-opened, after being closed due to the covid situation & found it to be very quiet, with quite a few shops closed. I'm not sure if this will change in the coming Months, i imagine it may be quite some time, before things return to normal.
There are plenty of restaurants, ranging from the food court (which wasn't too badly priced) all the way up to much more expensive options. Also various clothes & accessories shops.
We decided to have a ride on the asiatique-sky ferris wheel, as they were offering a reopening discount of 50%. From 60M up, at the top of the wheel, you have decent views of the River & also the Sirimahannop, which is berthed here. This is a new addition to the Chao Phraya River & is a large 3 masted sailing ship & very impressive to look at.
Whilst we were there, there was a free Chang music festival/concert on, which we thoroughly enjoyed, even if the weather was horrendous with torrential rain.
Would be interesting to revisit, when things are back to normal & get a comparison to how it was when we visited.

This place is next to the Chao Phraya River. Has a very beautiful view Especially at night with beautiful lights, good weather, not too hot
Here there is a restaurant to sit and chill. There is an amusement park. Which I like very much Not really have a chance to travel like this Although traveling to this place Will be a little difficult But after receiving it, it is worth it.

Thailand may be undergoing a downturn in Chinese visitors, as well as many others, at the moment but it is certainly making places like Asiatique a lot more accessible. No more long snakes of tourists being dragged around by tour guides. Now, one can take ones time and look at individual shops and booths, take the time to barter with owners and get a table at a restaurant without a half hour wait. Every cloud, as they say, has a silver lining...

Extremely lively with heavy traffic flowing in and out, we were surprised by all of the shops we encountered. Naturally, I did leave Asiatique with gifts for loved ones as well as travel and cosmetic bags for myself. Restaurants plus inexpensive food stalls near the river, fellow travelers stated that their traditional and inexpensive meals purchased at stalls near the river the evening before, were unfortunately not open when they returned the next evening. We were lodging at the nearby Ramada Plaza, and walked from there with a group of fellow travelers. It was a fun evening out at a busy location with lots of neon lighting. Upbeat, clean, safe, stimulating. What we saw was more of a traditional mall shopping center.

Asiatique riverfront is a must go for shopping and fun evening. The place has lots of eateries, mini shopping stalls. The most attractive thing is Thailand's largest Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel ride is for 1000THB per person and is for around 15-20 minutes. From the top, it gives a beautiful view of the lit riverfront and the Asiatique market below. There are live boxing matches going on as well. You should definitely try some of the ice creams they sell here at stalls.
Asiatique is a market develop for tourists in Thailand. Because it is for tourists the prices are little above what you can find in weekend markets. There is lot of street food available outside the Aisatique which is good to try. But it definitely deserves a visit.
You can reach here by cab or take tuk tuk ride from the nearest station.

The Asiatique is very touristy. Tourists were everywhere and you can find lots of souvenirs, food, drinks, and even massages.
Prices are expensive (we had a dinner at Fire & Dine and prices came up to be 1500 baht for 3 - inclusive of 2 beers) & portions are small.
Overall , good place to take some photos and to spend a couple of hours.

We found many variants of food, staring from street food until hi-end resto or cafe. The price is moderate expensive. You will pay 200-300 bath per item.
Don’t forget try crocodile meat, it was delicious and very temptation.
Try also Thai Beer, I love it!!

Bars, restaurants, shops, rides and shows all in the same place. Great place to spend some time. We took in the show at the Calypso Cabaret, had a few drinks next to the river and ate at a lovely little restaurant all for the right price. Lots of cheap taxis run from here too.

This trip was a bit disappointing because there was not much to do there except ride the big wheel, which was very expensive. The shopping in the market is overpriced and it is unbearably hot inside. Not much selection of food and ice cream vendors were open but were sold out on almost everything. A wasted trip

In fact, this is a modern night market that is neatly arranged according to the needs category. Starting from food, clothing, jewelry and various necessities are available here. It is similar to other Night Markets in Bangkok, the difference is that it is built more organized and modern. Prices here are more expensive than most night markets in Bangkok. Same thing but the price is a bit more because the rent is quite expensive. It is up to you to choose.

Hi, wanted to check if there are options to eat for vegetarians as well?
Written 8 January 2020
The place is majorly sea-food-centric. There is a pizza place 'The pizza company' where we were able to find cheese only pizza. Otherwise, you can have lots of fruits and ice creams being sold there. Not many other options for vegetarians though.

Please does anyone how far Asiatique is from Rembrandt hotel and Suites and how to get there and back with an idea of cost. Many thanks.
Written 3 January 2020
I would suggest you take the BTS Sky Train (Asok is your nearest stop) and go to Saphin Taksim. Get off at Saphin Taksim and take the free boat shuttle to Asiatique from the pier. This will be much faster and economical, in my opinion. Otherwise meter taxi which might take longer because of traffic and probably more expensive.

Do the hotel boats stop at Asiatique or only the Asiatique boat?

I didn’t see any boats other than the Asiatique boat stop, plus night cruises. Most boats stop just under the station and you can change boats there.
