The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

Lower standard that I could expect from 5 stars hotel. The voucher was not that cheap compared to other hotels. 90 mins spa but I did less than 90mins without informing that they cut my time as I came late for 10 mins. No information of any other facility that the spa has. Staff only do what they need to do following the standard but just ignore the quality. The massages was okay. Only that I felt okay. Sorry to say other that that were minus. I never complained any spa I went even it’s not impressed but I just want them to improve it. W is very nice hotels in many countries that I visited. I hope Bkk will be like other places as well.

Oil massage was excellent. Great spa. Highly recommend a therapist named Aor - truly fantastic. Also for guests it appears a foot massage.by the pool while tanning is available - hot tip.

This is my favourite spa and massage place in Bangkok. The staff are professional, friendly and very good at their job. My mum and I visited there a few times and we have had Kwan, Joy and Or who have all been amazing. My mum has back issues and this is the only spa in Thailand that she can go to that provides instant relief! Also enjoy the modern vibe with steam, sauna and the Jacuzzi that are part of the facilities. My only issue is the funky pop music they play instead of the spa music but I can live with that because everything else is wonderful. Easy to get to on the Skytrain at Chong Nonsi stop.

The Away spa is located in the 6th floor of W hotel. When I entered the spa I was greeted with a nice cool drink and a cool hand towel. From the spa menu, I selected full body treatments and facial. The treatments room is an extraordinary with a very comfortable bed, color-controlled lighting, and beautiful touches. Before I started the treatment I felt very relaxed by the room ambiance. The body treatment by the therapist Nicha was amazing and professional. The facial treatment is unique, her technique is excellent.
I take this opportunity to thank the staff of the Away Spa, Nina (the manager) Tom, Sine and the therapist Nicha for making my visit a wonderful experience.

Maybe I was spoiled by other spas, but in 1 week in Bangkok this spa was the only one that was just a tad disappointing. Bangkok is a spa mecca and Away Spa is not cheap, so it needs to deliver. I found better service and amenities at the other spas I visited during this trip (Panpuri Wellness, Yunomori, Let's Relax Thonglor, Erb Spa).

The good:
Beautiful and unique design. The rooms are very futuristic and modern. You can choose your LED colour which is kind of cool too. The jacuzzi and sauna facilities are nice and there are heated lounge chairs to relax on. The changeroom has most things you would need, even things like razors. My massage therapist (I did 75 mins. Thai massage + 15 mins. foot massage) was very good. The massage was really strong pressure which I liked. Staff were friendly and spoke good English. You get a cold juice on arrival and hot tea when you leave.

The not so good:
I researched hotel spas extensively before choosing Away (also looked at Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, Hyatt, Sofitel etc). I chose this spa because I like to use a steam room/sauna before or after a treatment. I was also hoping they would allow spa guests to use their rooftop swimming pool. So I was quite disappointed to see that the steam room was out of service and that I would not be allowed to use the pool. My therapist also mentioning something about how I should not use the sauna since I am getting a Thai massage (not sure the logic behind that?). The jacuzzi was nice but not the most clean -- there were some bits of what looked like dead skin in the water.

Little details e.g. cups with a water dispenser were not available. Every other spa I went to had ice cold water available outside the steam room/sauna to stay hydrated. Instead, after my massage, while I was changing after the massage (I was half naked!), my therapist barged into the change room and clumsily handed me a bottle of water. It was awkward and I wondered why she didn't just give it to me after the massage or after I got changed.

Furthermore, the changeroom is tiny and crammed. It has no door, just a beaded curtain. This means that as people are entering/exiting the spa area (into reception), you have no privacy. I felt this was a really odd design. At this type of luxury hotel spa, you would expect nice toiletries, but they just had Nivea/L'oreal products from the drug store.

After the massage, I changed into my swim suit but there were no towels in the changeroom. I walked around the hall looking for a staff member but no one was there. So I had to walk (in just my bikini!) to the reception area and ask for a towel. A lot of spas provide a robe to wear between treatments or so you have something to cover up when walking to the jacuzzi/steam room/sauna, and this would have been a nice touch. After I finished showering and getting dressed, I had to poke my head into the reception area and ask for a plastic bag for my wet swimsuit.

Not to sound nit-picky, but these small details would really help the experience run more smoothly. This was the most expensive of all the spas I visited and yet the service was the least attentive. It was not busy at all when I went (weekday afternoon), so I don't think the problem was a lack of staffing. Perhaps these small oversights would not be so obvious, but *every* other spa I visited was so exemplary in their service and attention to detail that it was hard not to notice. I highly recommend all the other spas I listed above if you want to feel truly pampered.

Pure relaxation with topnotch facilities and lovely staff! Had a 90 min massage and every minute of it was AMAZING! K Mona and K Em made us feel like royalty and pampered us with the highest luxurious spa experience in W. If you are thinking of having a spa day in BKK, this is the ONLY place to be.

I and my husband took a full retox treat and it was fantastic. The therapists Andy and Ao were professional. They always checked if we were comfortable with the pressure of the massage, and temperature of the room and the water.

The salong was very cosy, dimmed lighting and we could wish for colours during the treat. The massage and facial treat made us so relaxed. The atomiser was too excellent.
It's not my first time at W Bangkok but actually, first time trying their massage. I would strongly recommend this activity to friends and people I know.
We met Andy last new year 2019 already during a free massage giving. already there he impressed us with his skills.

My wife and I did the 3 hour retox package and it was fantastic. They did an incredible job, made us feel comfortable and relaxed, and were some of the nicest people we have met on our trip. Their facility was also beautiful. Highly recommend.

My friend and I chose the Fire Spa Package as birthday treats, and made all the arrangements easily by email. We were welcomed on the day with cool drinks and cold cloths, before filling out a form detailing exactly what we wanted from the treatments.

We were shown separately into the changing area and then after a bit of confusion we decided to go to the jacuzzi and hammam area after our treatments.

The massage and facial were very well-done, and my therapist Nicha was excellent, always checking that the pressure was ok and that I was comfortable. It was all over too soon! After changing into a swimsuit I was then taken to the jacuzzi area where my friend and I relaxed in the warm water for about 30 minutes or so. My only complaint was that the jets weren’t quite strong enough for me - it was more like sitting in a slightly bubbly bath than a jacuzzi.

The atmosphere in the spa was restful and soothing, and the place was very clean and well cared for. I loved the modern decor and all the little extras: the toiletries, the lovely fluffy dressing gowns and the drinks before, during and after our visit. All the staff were so helpful and took great care of us.

Next time I go back will definitely be at the weekend, where I can take more time to enjoy the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and hammam area. It’s the first place I’ve come across in Bangkok that is like a “spa” in the U.K. and I thoroughly recommend it for people like me who like to do the whole water/spa experience.

A real birthday treat - loved it!
