Review of: Yoga Safari
As a solo female traveler, I could not recommend Uganda Adventure Safaris more highly, with all thanks to Chris, my guide/tour planner/driver. He made me feel comfortable and safe at all times. Plus, he's a kind soul who is fun to be around and with whom you'll have interesting, engaging conversations. Overall, just a fantastic travel companion/friend! He is very knowledgeable about Uganda and East Africa in general. I came back from our trip having learned so much. He is also passionate about music, which I loved, so he introduced me to a lot of awesome songs from local artists, as well artists from all over the continent and the world! He was super keen to learn from me too, so we had an amazing time exchanging music and stories throughout the entire trip. I loved hearing some of his music from Japan and Germany--songs that had been introduced to him by previous clients--each of which came with a lovely story and fond memories attached, which I had fun hearing about from Chris. It was a blast! The itinerary Chris created was perfectly planned. We stayed in clean, comfortable, and beautiful accommodations. And Chris maximized our time by planning our itinerary around what made sense geographically and the routes that we needed to take to get from point A to point B. He was punctual and organized, making for a seamless, stress-free journey. Chris was also very flexible and fully prioritized my enjoyment of the experience. He went above and beyond to cater the trip to my needs and desires. He's perceptive and thoughtful, always paying attention to things that I liked, and used that to dictate the pace of the trip and the stops we made. He brought me to some breathtaking viewpoints and delicious restaurants. He noticed that I loved the grilled street corn that we once stopped for on the side of the road, and then he made a point to pull over to buy some for me whenever we had the chance. My sister, Nicole, has taken many trips with Chris with Uganda Adventure Safaris and she has expressed that each trip has been as wonderful as the last. The common threads we have seen in our experiences have been Chris' generosity, kindness, and passion for fostering genuine connections with his clients and creating meaningful, unforgettable experiences on each of his tours. I could go on and on about how incredible my trip was and how Chris was simply the best, but I'll leave it at this. Whenever I come back to East Africa, I will always choose Uganda Adventure Safaris and recommend you do the same. You will leave with friendship, wisdom, and memories that will last a lifetime.

I first traveled with Uganda Adventures in 2016 when I was working and leaving in Kampala and had great experiences. I returned this year with friends for a 14 days long trip that included gorillas and chimpanzees trekking and we had the best time. We could not recommend Uganda Adventure Safaris more! We had the perfect safari thanks to Chris our Safari planner and our guide. Chris was very much patient in answering all of our questions and he made sure that all the bookings were made as we requested and were in order. Everything was smooth and stress-free. All we had to do was to enjoy the safari. Chris is an incredible tour guide/driver. He made great suggestions for which camps, hotels or lodges to stay in and they all exceeded our expectations.

With Chris as our safari guide, We felt like we were traveling with a professor, we learned so much. He went out of his way to make sure we had good time. He found best spots for picnic lunches (even if it meant driving to difficult areas) He made additional long stops so we can enjoy the nature and the animals at our own pace while keeping us on time. We saw all the animals we hoped to see (lions, leopards, elephants, Chimpanzees, Gorillas, hyenas, monkeys and many more) While this is partially down to luck, Chris’s knowledge of Uganda certainly helped (we still do not know how he never got lost in the parks without using google maps) Thank you Chris for this unforgettable experience, you really made it special!
If you are traveling to Uganda or East Africa and you are not sure who to book with, Chris is your go to Safari guide and we trust he will not disappoint.

In February 2022, I went on Safari in Kidepo National Park. I have been in Uganda for sometime now, and Kidepo was one of the final places that I wanted to see before returning home to the US. Chris of Uganda Adventure Safaris was my guide for the trip. We left Kampala on February 21st and returned on the 26th. It was amazing having so many days to explore the natural wonders of Kidepo. During this trip I was also able to explore another city that was new to me, Gulu. As soon as we arrived at Kidepo, we went on a game drive. Chris was determined for us to see as much wildlife as possible. In addition to being professional, Chris is also well connected. He has good working relationships with many of the park employees. And because of those connections, the rangers helped us find the wildlife in the park. We were able to see a beautiful male lion, up close and personal. Another thing of note about Chris and Uganda Adventure Safaris is that they are excellent at picking accommodations for their guests. During my time at Kidepo, I stayed at the Apoka Lodge. It is a budget accommodation but very comfortable with friendly staff. One of the unique features of Apoka is they have a watering hole in the middle of their lodge, where the animals of the park come to drink and cool off in the water. On two separate occasions during my stay, I saw families of elephants playing and drinking in the watering hole. The watering hole is situated directly across from the dining area for the lodge, so it is easy to catch animals while you take in a meal. This unexpected surprise was one of the highlights of my trip. I would of never witnessed such an amazing site, if Chris had not booked this particular accommodation for me. This is just one example of how Chris and Uganda Adventure Safaris goes above and beyond for their guests. Their attention to detail, positive attitude, professionalism, and kindness ensure that EVERY one of their guests will have the trip of a lifetime. I have spent alot of time in Uganda. During that time I have fallen in love with the country, and one of the main reasons for this are all of the wonderful trips that Chris of Uganda Adventure Safaris has taken me on during my stay here. I strongly encourage anyone that is visiting Uganda to book a trip with Uganda Adventure Safaris. It will give you the chance to see such a magical country with a seasoned and enthusiastic tour company who values customer satisfaction above anything else.

We returned from our Best of Uganda 16 day personal safari on January 28, 2022. Our planning process started last May. Traveling during Covid presents testing requirements but results in very few people at the safari lodges. Several lodges were only the two of us staying which results in incredible service and attention and minimal vehicles on game drives. If this is a bucket list trip, as it was for us, go before everyone begins to get back to normal travels. Because of the long flights (we left from Las Vegas), plan to stay at least two weeks. We felt 16 days was perfect. Our itinerary included a Boda Boda (motorbike) tour of Kampala, Siipi Falls, and six national parks (Kidepo, Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, and Lake Mburo) plus Lake Bunyonyi. The pace of the safari was perfect staying at each park for two nights which enabled us to do numerous game drives plus the Chimpnzee trek and Mountain Gorilla trek. When we googled mountain gorilla trek in Uganda, Uganda Adventure Safari surfaced immediately. My initial email inquiry was answered immediately by Chris, owner/tour operator/tour guide. From his first email, we could feel his passion for Uganda and its wildlife resources. But what really convinced us to book with Chris was his offer to take just the two of us on our own private safari. SOLD!! We looked no further. We have been on a safari in both Kenya and South Africa so we knew the value and importance of our own private tour. We booked the middle level of accommodations. Our one request was a private en suite bathroom. Some of the budget accommodations include shared facilities. During Covid this was not an option for us. Chris was very responsive to our numerous questions. Soon we had our final itinerary with accommodations listed. Booking lodges when many were closed to Covid was not an easy task for Chris. It he delivered lodges that exceeded our expectations at every venue. Our last lodge (Kigambira Safari Lodge) was brand new and for two nights it was just the two of us with Chris and his friend/colleague. A couple of days before we left for Uganda, Chris asked if we would be comfortable if a colleague (who had not been to all six national parks) joined us. We were excited to have a second guide join us. Plus another set of eyes to spot game is always a plus. What really impressed us was that Chris had the courtesy to ask us first. A few words about Chris. You will not find another guide who is more passionate about Uganda. He was born and raised in rural Uganda. He is so knowledgeable about the wildlife and respectful when on game drives not to disturb them. He is also very knowledgeable about birds and trees and plants of Uganda. All of the arrange, ente he made at lodges, boat cruises, gorilla trek permits, chimpanzee trek permits, meals, hikes, and community tours all went off flawlessly. There were no glitches in 16 days of travel. We were so impressed! One advantage to going with Chris is his vast number of contacts in each park. As soon as we got to a national park, he would pop the top on his Land Cruiser and we would be on a game drive. He was constantly checking with his contacts to find out where the lions, leopards, etc…were spotted. He is well known and respected by his colleagues and park rangers. Of course, the gorilla trek was a highlight. Again, having Chris as our guide resulted in our being placed in a group of people with similar physical abilities which is extremely important. All of our game drives were also highlights. Chris made excellent use of all Dos our time in Uganda. If we fit ti a lodge before din er, we went on a game drive. We were always the first safari vehicle out of the lodge to begin a sunrise game drive. He kept us busy and we benefited by spotting water buffalo, water bucks, eland, giraffes, lions, leopards, pythons, wart hogs, zebras, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, a honey badger, chimpanzees, and mountain gorillas. The amount of wildlife we saw was truly amazing. At our last lodge we had wart hogs and hippos under our tent structure which was on stilts. Our last night a leopard was spotted in the tree 50 yards from our tent. Amazing!! Chris is an amazing photographer with excellent equipment. Many of his photos are National Geographic quality. At the end of our safari, he generously shared his pictures with us. Another highlight which was not on our itinerary happened at Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park rangers have pit radio collars on some lions and leopards which they are able to track for research. Chris was able to contact the park rangers to see if we could go on a tracking safari off road to see a big male lion. Chris made all the arrangements and for an extra fee we were able to go on this special game drive. We did see a huge male lion, 8 female lions with cubs, 2 leopards, and 2 rock pythons. Tracking the animals and being able to go off road was such a gift. Without Chris and his contacts and knowledge of this adventure, we would have missed out on something very special. Thanks again, Chris, for this adventure! Something that surprises us was the quality of our meals. It is impressive what the lodges can do out in the bush, our safari price included all lodges, 2-3 meals a day,all national park entrance fees, chimpanzee trek permit, and gorilla trek permits. Chris bought pineapples along the way which we enjoyed during game drives, Delicious! Chris picked us up when we landed in Entebbe which was after midnight, he arranged for our departure Covid test at a private hospital with results returned in exactly three hours. He stayed with hs until we had the results and then delivered us to the airport. Everyday he told us what time to meet in the morning. He was always ready and waiting. The Land Cruiser was comfortable and perfect for game drives and photo shooting, He even cleaned the vehicle when it got muddy or dusty, Such service! Our best advice if you are thinking about this trip is to trust that Chris will do everything he can to make this a trip of a lifetime for you, He is professional, knowledgeable, and just a kind, considerate person. The guide can make or break your trip. Chris definitely made our safari memorable and we would not change a thing. Thanks, Chris, for a trip of a lifetime!
