If you are into nature and beautiful scenery then you will love this place. It's like something out of Jurassic Park. Take a brolly or suitable wet gear as there is little in the way of shelter if you get caught in a quick shower.

Stopped here for about 15 mins on a tour. Beautiful views and lucky enough to spot some monkeys. Some people fed them but they do say not to or get too close. Lots of souvenir stalls on route to the viewpoint.

We stopped off briefly at the viewpoint overlooking the Black River Gorge. It is breathtaking - watching White Tailed Tropic Birds soar above the trees and playful monkeys close to the view point (do not feed)! If returning to the island, it will be nice...More

Definitely a must see in Mauritius if you like to experience nature. For an easy walk with spectacular views go to Petrin and walk to Macchabee view point. A little up and down on comfortable paths. For the more adventurous try the Macchabee forest trail...More

Yes certainly. You can arrange the guide hire through the hotel I’m sure or at the 3 gorges area. There’s lots of guides there and all quite knowledgeable about the hiking. Make sure you’re fit. The hikes are not very high... More

Normally when you book a taxi, you book them for the whole trip/day. If you decide to go to hike the driver is waiting there for you. Be sure to agree on a price in advance. Public transport with buses would be indeed a... More
