We enjoyed the Na Pali coastline from a helicopter vantage point. You must take this trip whether you take it by boat ride or helicopter flight, words can't, or photos can't describe this massive coastline of Kauai. Some of the most pristine ocean waters crashing along the coastline. The waters shooting up from the jagged rocks are WOW!! The mountains are spectacular and the geography can't be explained. Take the trip and enjoy.

We had an awesome time on the No Doors Helicopter tour of the Na Pali coast. It's unbelievably beautiful, breathtaking. It took me 10 minutes into the trip to finally relax enough to enjoy it, just because I was scared of the no of doors thing. The peaks and valleys and waterfalls. Wow!!
We loved it so much that we did another tour, this time with Blue Dolphin sailboat. It was awe inspiring as well. So gorgeous to see the Na Pali coast from the air and then from the ocean. Out of all the things we saw and did on Kauai the Na Pali coast is the one we talk about most.

Captain Steve and Marett were AMAZING!! What a wonderful trip for our family. Marett knew so much and shared stories as we traveled the coast. Captain Steve navigated the boat like a boss! Highly recommend!

Had an absolute blast on this tour. We saw spinner and bottle nosed dolphins within 20 mins of taking off. Later in the trip we saw multiple whale breeches. The views were breath taking and Drew was an incredible guide! So happy to have shared his company while exploring the na pali coast. 10/10!

Simply enjoy the views - be it from the state park, helicopter, hiking or boat. Trying to describe the beauty of this area is futile. In short, the topography and color of the landscape is like no other.

An unbelievably beautiful hike down the tallest sea cliffs in the world. A grueling trek with 26 switchbacks and 3.5 miles of stairs. Be sure to take extra water and look for the strawberry guavas near the top of the cliffs. No one can enter Kalaupapa without a sponsor or tour guide but once you enter be ready for one of the most spiritual days of your life in what was once a leper colony. There are mule rides and small planes that can get you to the bottom but my wife and I took the hike and we will never forget the time we spent there. This is a very extreme hike, and do not go when it is raining. You will die.

I was planning on taking a boat tour from Port Arthur up to the NaPali coast. The tour operator indicated that they could not take anyone with a pacemaker or ICD, due to the powerful radars from the Pacific Missle testing range on the SW coast of Kauai. They indicated this could and would have a very negative effect on any such device.
I checked with by EP doctor, who told me to go to Medtronic's customer service. Medtronic indicated they could not recommend the trip, due to the strong electronic signal.

If you want to take the best tour on the island give Uncle Walter a call at (808) 213-5655. His tour of the Pali Coast ( tallest sea cliffs in the world) is amazing!
I spent 5 weeks on the island this winter and went out 3 times with various visitors. I would have gone more but Walter left go on his own vacation. He has a deep lifetime love of the area, and it's' waters, and his knowledge is incredible. He will do anything you like, we spent time with whales saw a monk seal, and snorkels, so much fun! Some may think it a pricey tour but 1 tour with Walter Naki is like 3 tours with any one else!

Google Walter Naki and reserve a Moloka'i Pali coast boat ride and fishing trip - (the water was too high the day we went, but he will also show you how snorkeling is done, on a calmer day - he is the best around all-hawai'i) The cliffs are staggering, the waterfalls
blow you away. Walter is the man. Do it.

My wife and I rode out some abandoned roads off of 480 and got spectacular view to the east and the west. I would give you more detail, but nothing was marked. We just headed west toward the end of 480 and kept making rights (north) toward to beach/cliffs. One of the roads took us past tons of abandoned cars and large appliances. The landscape was almost lunar-like. It was really cool.

We will be traveling to Kauai in July and we are interested in hiking the Na Pali coast. I have heard that there is a tour option of hiking the entire trail (11 miles) and then being picked up at the end by a boat. Is this true and if so, can anyone recommend a company for booking the tour. We have no interest in camping overnight or hauling camping gear along with us for the hike.
Written 29 May 2018
You might be hard-pressed to finish the 11 miles in a day. You should take the time to hike up into the valleys to visit waterfalls and take a swim. A word of caution - stay on the trail. Although they say it's uninhabited, there are folks on pot plantations that don't take kindly to "visitors".

Hi, You wrote about helicopter tour in your review. Would you mind sharing which tour you took? We will be going to Kauai in December. Since we cannot take the boat tours (I read it will be too dangerous), we would like to take the helicopter tour.
Any suggestions will be really appreciated. Thanks so much for your time.
