It's a nice river, but when you realize it's significance as part of Washington DC as well as historical significance, it means so much more.

The Potomac runs through the heart of the DC Metro area. It's lined with parkland and biking and hiking paths. Lots of monuments along the way. Lots of grand and non-so grand bridges.
