I really love this part of DC with its little houses, "single shops" (even if they are H&M or similar) integrated into the classic architecture. But also the atmosphere, the cafes, the canals, the food. Only parking can be really expensive.

I did a Lonely Planets walking tour (from the book.) I saw so many parts of this beautiful town. Loved it!

We went her twice, once on the hop on hop off bus then again after hiring bikes the next day. It reminds me of an English village, some really lovely boutique shops and plenty of places the eat and drink. It's really scenic and beautiful....More

We were staying nearby in Foggy Bottom so took the 10/15 minute walk to spend our evenings in Georgetown. Such a lovely place for shopping, eating or just strolling by the river.

There are no great monuments, but there are excellent places to eat, enjoy a cupcake or good coffee, or just walk around the town until you reach the Potomac and see its shores and just relaxing

We spent two day here. The first day we had so much fun we went back the next day and did it again. Besure to stay all day for the party boats at night.

It has been a while; however, the metro stop at Key Bridge is an easy walk into the middle of Georgetown. May want to Google ‘Washington DC Metro’ to see the updated map. Hope you have fun!

Spend some time on the waterfront! I love it as the sun goes down. And if it's not too hot and humid, and if you are up for it, it's worth walking to the Kennedy Center.
