If you visit Georgetown, avaoid the crowds. Stay away from M Street shops and the waterfront. Head up hill to where the old houses are and walk the streets. Head all the way up to R street and hit the cemetery and gardens. Georgetown is...More

We travel from DC to Georgetown with the Circulator ($1.00). I would define it as an interesting neighborhood. Besides shopping, the historic houses and sites, the river and his boardwalk covered our expectations and if you are a foodie for sure will find a lot...More

Experience the old and new. Such a beautiful area if you enjoy walking. Take your time and take in the sights from the historical to the retail.

We were staying down the road from Georgetown and took a stroll late one afternoon. It’s got a rea village feel about it with a mixture of quirky shops and some more high end chain shops as well as pubs, restaurants etc. Lovely vibe, worth...More

Make sure to eat on the water front. There are awesome little restaurants right on the bank of the river. It is a gorgeous town with a lot of history.

This is a very pleasant part of town, with a refurbished harbour area as well as nice shops together with cafes and the inevitable posers driving around in the Lamborghinis, Porches or Ferraris. Yes property is expensive here and people love telling you this. Somehow...More

I was amazed at the amount of friendly people (in a city) that I encountered while visiting Georgetown. From the Fire Station to the Dog Park, the residents make the choice easy!

I enjoyed the gardens, and the tropicals are wonderful. I did expect more. I found the outdoor gardens around the Smuthsonians to easily rival and surpass these. Sorrry to say.

Georgetown has beautiful architectures, restaurants, cafes, museums, shops and a very young vibe. It's a great place to hang out for an evening or during the weekend for a stroll.

Super easy. The Canals are about 2-3 blocks off M Street. You just stroll along them. The waterfront is another 3-4 blocks beyond that. Enjoy!

It has been a while; however, the metro stop at Key Bridge is an easy walk into the middle of Georgetown. May want to Google ‘Washington DC Metro’ to see the updated map. Hope you have fun!
