It’s closed at the moment. They are still repairing issues that came from the earthquake a few years back. You can get close enough for good views, but you can’t get up to the base of it, not can you go up in it.

When I visited the monument, it was closed for renovations. We were still able to go close enough and view the spectacular tower. It’s also quite nice if you can get some facts about the tower such as the fact that the construction was halted...More

The Washington Monument is a must do while in DC. It's very nice and to see and also to see the views around it. It's enjoyable to walk around or sit for a few moments and people watch.

This is always great to see when traveling to DC. There is some construction going on now so we were not able to get too close this time.

Proud to be an American - where we honor our history and those who help ensure it. The weather is starting to get hot and lines were a tad long - but overall - it's been a great trip.

Typically cancellations are done at the Visitor Centrex or at the Park Rangers Office. I have seen it being done at Visitor Centrex in some places though I have not done it .
