Steel yourself before visiting here. It takes you on the journey from limiting rights, through ghettoisation through to holocaust. Brutally honest - particularly about the role of Hungarian leaders and sections of the population in genocide. Extremely well presented. Well worth the visit.

This is a superb museum, deeply moving. Unmissable. Excellent collection of material, with extremely well written accounts.

Spend time here visiting a museum that explains WW2 and the Hungarians. Some films regarding the concentration camps are hard to watch. End up in a reconstructed synagogue with some interesting glass chairs.

Visited the centre as an optional excursion with a Viking River cruise. The guide was well informed and spent a great deal of time showing and explaining details that were unknown to most of the non-Jewish members of the group. Went into the Synogue, up...More

Humbling, sad, and heartbreaking. The marching of footsteps made you fell like you were part of it. Seeing the history of the Hungarian government be a part of the Holocaust makes you sick. Very touching with personal stories.

A visit here won't be easy, but is a must do to understand what previous generations went through. It was very quiet and sombre when we went but is very well organised and informative. I left with goosebumps and a better understanding of the history...More

Very impressive. You really see what occurred here in Budapest during the Nazi regime. Take a tour. Vey good explanations inside. Particularly of interest is the out door sculpture of a tree that is also an upside down menorah. The leaves each have the name...More
