I visit the Superpit every year and am in amazement each time at the size of the hole. You can’t go to kalgoolie and not make the effort to see the pit. This year I noticed that a large land slide had taken place recently,...More

Well worth a visit to see the scope of mining. No entry fee heard and it lookout gives an excellent view of operations and also explains the mining from inception. This is a must visit on every trip to Kalgoorlie.

Massive hole in the ground.Fantastic view from the visitors area. You can get some great pictures. Really feel the ground and air shake when they do a blast at the bottom.

Staggering to see this level of greed based destruction that will never be rectified after use. Great tour which lasted for several hours and took us along the pit edge and into the site.

The guide on our tour bus was very informative about the whole process involved from retrieval of the quarried rock to extracting the gold...roughly 60 kgs per day from many tons of dirt... Forget what it costs to do this tour...a must do in Kalgoorlie...More

We visited the Super Pit lookout and were astonished at the scale of the operation. Evidence of the slip is obvious, and if you look carefully you can see dark holes where they have cut across old underground workings. There is an undercover information area...More

It was amazing we were in awe of the size of the Superpit. We did the free tour by driving ourselves, spending a bit of time taking many photos. Definitely a place to visit in Kalgoorlie.

Amazing to see, very deep and greet lookout. If visiting Kal, check this out from the purpose built lookout.

This is interesting showing the workings of a huge open cut mining operation in action. All the family should find it interesting and keep in mind the price is right. It is free. All members of my group found it of interest.

I think you should either contact the SUPER PIT Direct or ring Kalgoorlie visitors centre. From my understanding it is open DAILY but I certainly am not any authority on this!
