The Port of Echuca is a living monument to the 1870's when it was Australia's largest inland port and indeed the third largest port in Australia outside Sydney and Melbourne. Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed.

I do like walking around the Port of Echuca area. We brought the kids here a few times and we all liked it, especially the walk on the old wharf. On a recent visit it seems the wharf is now behind a pay wall. That...More

The Port of Echuca tour is a fantastic way to discover the importance that the river trade played in developing the nation. Follow it up with a river cruise.

The older lady was just cranky and not convincing. She was asked a question by a child and she just ignored them and played spooky with some crazy woman. Sound all made up!More

This has been renovated since we visited six years ago and it looks great. It's become modern without being too commercial. A lot of information available and good mementos to purchase at very reasonable prices.
