The Port of Echuca is a living monument to the 1870's when it was Australia's largest inland port and indeed the third largest port in Australia outside Sydney and Melbourne. Authentic steam driven paddlesteamers depart daily from the Echuca Wharf which originally extended 333 metres in length in the 1880's and has been recently been reconstructed.Home of the TV series "All the Rivers Run", the Port of Echuca will provide you with a glimpse of what live was really like in the late 1800's. With the new Discovery Centre now open, it is indeed an attraction not to be missed.

A wonderful display of Australian history. Love the displays, engineering wonders that assisted farmers and working boats along the Murray. Enjoyed every moment.

Beautifully set out, even ground. Worth a look at the old trades of Australian history. Quaint old shops portraying fascinating records of our river trade. Old fashioned photography, wood skills, penny arcade, wines and ports, paddlesteamer tours, horse and coach rides.

Very well laid out and maintained museum on the old riverport site. We learned a lot about the importance of Echuca in the development of Australia's wool industry.

We had a lovely afternoon cruising the Murray on the Paddlesteamer. The kids loved lazing on the bails having a soft drink. It was a great insight into a bygone era.

The Discovery centre is a great way to understand the history of Echuca...the river trade, the buildings, the personalities and the changes over time. The machinery exhibits are fascinating and the recordings in the various buildings and rail cars were very entertaining. I'm glad we...More

Weekdays are fine as you will have no problem. But if you want to go on a particular paddlesteamer, then check as some do not run every day. Enjoy your trip as Echuca is lovely!
