Excellent facility, certainly worth a detour and if they have guest exhibitions on it would be worth the trip from anywhere within a dingo's bark to come and see. Classic, contemporary, aboriginal.

I had heard about the Bendigo gallery but never realised it would be this good. Really great collection of historical and modern works with a great exhibition of recent works.

There is a variety of art to take in with the changing exhibitions and then the permanent displays of Australian art.

Try to time your visit to benefit from the knowledgeable and passionate guide. Like most galleries there are many pieces in the collection (6,000+) so repeat visits well worth it.
