Visited site today. Partook of "herstory". A play that brings the history of this place to life. Wandered the site. Such interesting tales of the women brought to life by the information provided at the the female factory. Recommend this tour.

Didn't have time to go to Port Arthur, so came here. A 40 minute walk from the centre. Not too much to see. An hour is more than enough unless you sign up for the tour. Sad to hear the reasons for exportation.

After reading the Potato Factory, no visit to Hobart is complete without going to the Female Factory. It is an excellent view into the mid 1850’s when women prisoners were kept in working conditions. I really recommend a visit.
