The waterfall onto the beach is a beautiful sight at sunset (or any other time), One of the prettiest places we've seen.

My wife and I hired electric bikes to cycle down to McWay falls, part of the park. It's a really fun cycle and the bikes are great. There are loads of places to stop for photos along the way as the landscape is breathtaking. Getting...More

Fortunately the road was just recently opened since the mud slides or we would never have gotten to see it! I doubt that we will ever be back to this area again since we are from Pennsylvania. We feel really blessed to have had the...More

Beautiful quick hike off the main road. Worth the stop. Love that they have history boards explaining the story of Julia Pfeiffer.

The beautiful cove with a waterfall plunging into the ocean are reason enough to stop here, but there are also a variety of hikes, from short and super easy (to view the falls), to long and challenging. The parking lot is crowded when the roads...More

This is the last stop before road closures as of August 12, 2017 on the Big Sur Pacific coast drive coming from the north. The park was almost a ghost town and we had the place to ourselves. A ghost town I guess bc of...More

Words cannot explain how beautiful this state park really is. The waterfall that flows to the beach is breathtaking and for those who have a hard time walking, it's really not a hard trek to get a wonderful view of it.

The park was closed and no signs were posted. We drove into the entrance of the park and the rangers told us at that point. We were disappointed for sure and told them that signs should have been posted way prior to entering the area....More

We visited this place as part of our drive up the Big Sur. The view of the waterfall is great, but if you want to really enjoy the falls, you have to walk down the walkway down to the sandy beach below. The water crashes...More

If this is your first time going, I think it would be a great stop. The views are beautiful by the coast. Just be mindful of the road closure on highway 1 and extra travel time. Personally, I'm not going back until they... More

Sorry I don't know the answer to either question. The park has a relatively good website. I would look there to find out about the dog. The website may also have current information about closures due to fire or a phone... More
