Is it too cold to swim in December? I am planning a trip by Dec 28 - 31.
If water is too cold, I might choose another location instead.

Well, i thought it was cold and it was a bright sunny day too.
Think you should prepare your swimming stuff ie bring it with you. But if you feel its cold then dont go in.
You should go here as the water feeding the waterfalls is the 1000 lingga river, dont miss that.

Where in Siem Reap can I book a tour for this? Or am I best doing it myself by hiring someone to take me there and back? Any tips?

Don't go yourself, it will cost you a lot. Many travel agencies all over Siem Reap. Just book with one of them.

Bonjour

We took our 14 month old. The ride from the city is long and can be bumpy, but we just tried our best to keep him occupied. Lots of snacks and water did the trick. We also skipped the stroller and carried him at the actual site. Honestly, it’s not very baby friendly. Lots of uneven steps and rocky terrain. But overall still a lovely place to visit.

Hello,
can you access by yourself in a small group or is a booked tour the best option? Any idea of cost if you can do by yourself?
Thanks :)

It's probably easier to join a tour and cheaper than hiring a car and driver for the day to do it yourself.

Hello Monigates
Thank you for your review on Kulen Mountain, we would like to visit this site, we are a couple aged 69 and 74, reasonably fit, in your opinion would the Kulen Mountain be doable for us?
Thanks again.

Hi Linda, I will be going to Siem Reap this April and this is my first time there. Besides the Angkor Thom, I will spend half day (from morning till 3:00pm) in the Phnom Kulen Nationa Park. Bu I can hardly find a Park map or guide on different sites. If by chance your have one, could you please upload it. Also to your experience, how should I spend my around 6 hours in this Park? Thank you.

hello
i hope you're not going to both angkor thom & phnom kulen national park on the same day. both places requires different tickets for entrance.
phnom kulen is usd20
angkor is usd37
phnom kulen cover 3 places, the buddha temple, 1000lingas river & waterfall. you can have your lunch at the waterfall. food shop is plenty. phnom kulen is approximately 2.5hrs from city. so, even if you start at 8am, you will only be back to hotel at around 4 or 5pm. if u make it to the city before 5pm, u can go straight to the ticketing counter to purchase the angkor wat ticket for next day.
i don't have any map right now but the hotels will usually have plenty of information brochures, tour packages, transports & more. no worries. most of them speak basic english so you can get around even by your own. i hope this helps. but if you need guide to arrange things before you arrive (as what we did), we just googled for info and found a local english speaking tour guide.

Hi I am traveling from New Zealand, what's the wether like in December? Also possibly 4star hotel?, and where can I find reliable guide? We are traveling with children

Just assume the weather will be hot - shorts and light shirts would be my choice with comfortable shoes. Plenty of hotels just make sure you get one with a pool especially with kids. We stayed in the City River Hotel because of the cost per room, the central location and rooftop pool but it isn't 4 star. Make sure you go to Jungle Burgers - owned by Kiwis and the best burger meal deals in town for a reasonable price - best parma i have had anywhere when we went back a second time. Everyone will tell you to go to the Chanrey Tree but it is expensive and over rated. For our guides we used Vietnam Inside because we entered via Vietnam but they also have a Cambodian company so they covered our entire trip. There are plenty of local town based guide options. Hope this helps.
