I didn’t do a big tour of beaches but I certainly love this one! We even got our engagement photos done here since it’s so beautiful and tropical. Well worth the visit for some fun in the sun.

If you like a California style beach, with tan-colored sand that some will tell you is white, then this is a very, very nice beach. Lots of people, but relatively quiet with plenty of parking. Some nice views down the coast too. But you're in...More

Had a great time at Hapuna Beach on the Big Island. Nice sandy beach and good facilities. Wish we had been able to spend more time there.

We loved this beach. We stayed in Puako so Hapuna Beach was a very short drive away. The water was clear and blue. The waves were gentle and the views from the beach of the lava, swaying palms and mountains in the distance were lovely....More

We stayed at Hapuna Prince for a week and although the resort in under major construction, this beach is just lovely. Great for walks, sunsets, swimming, and snorkeling.

Hapuna Beach is by far one of the best beaches on the island. It's a long white sand beach. Very few rocks in the water. My favorite place to bring my boogie board. It's located near the Hapuna Prince Hotel. If you're looking at the...More

Nice beach near Waikoloa Resort. Popular with locals and visitors alike. We make Hapuna Beach a regular every time we're on the Big Island.

Hi there! We usually went in the later morning for a few hours. But truthfully, we didn't see any turtles and only some fish near a rock. We were told about a snorkelling place (as we were leaving of course lol), that was... More

Yes, you can! All beaches are public & you can access them after hours, you can even swim, if you want, but it will be at your own risk: it will be dark during winter hours and no guards on duty. You can park your car at... More
