Beautiful place to visit. Audio guides in various languages included in the entrance ticket. Located a few kilometers from the beautiful town of Saluzzo.

The abbey is just few miles off Saluzzo (a beautiful medieval town which you should not miss!). Take the road that from Saluzzo goes to Revello. The journey to go there is already breathtaking: you drive surrounded by the magnificent Alps and guarded by il Monviso ("Il Re di Pietra", the Stone's King, as it is called by the locals) a majestic mountain that elevates above the others and acts as a compass.
The abbey will pops out from your left hand side, suddenly, while you are still admiring the mountains.
The full ticket is 8 Euros and includes an audio tour available in different languages.
Enjoy the peace and the beauty of the cloister, let the words guide you in the life of medieval monks and do not miss a visit to the chapel and its beautiful polyptych.
Outside of the abbey complex there is a restaurant and a bar, both ready to let you enjoy the local delicacies and if you have children or dogs, the lawn on the left hand side of the abbey is a great place for a picnic or let children and pet run free.

We attended a concert here on Monday evening. A beautiful church but the acoustics for the concert were marvelous. If you can find a concert event here, definitely worth attending.

I have never seen anything quite like this. The abbey buildings surround a peaceful garden inside cloisters. You can visit the refectory, the work room and the chapter house. Then there is a fantastic austere but beautiful church.
I highly recommend the audio guide which is informative without being long winded.
At the end of the guide there is a reference to the market place and visitors’ refectory. The former is obvious: immediately opposite the entrance. To find the refectory, turn left on leaving the ticket office and round the main building. The visitors’ refectory is opposite the restaurant. This is a spectacular building with frescos.

There is a feeling of simplicity with this Abbey. It is an Abbey with architecture that appears simple but is more complicated than at first appearance. The features in the church appear to be symmetric, but they are not!! And also, the staff are kind to cats! Dora just had kittens!!

A hidden gem in the country, with a beautiful monastery and a fascinating church, together with a harmonious cloister.

An impressive building that is exuding its long history; a visit is absolutely to be recommended and one should take his time to wander through the buildings and the garden; men feels humble when faced with this imposing building

If you are in Piedmont, I recommend a trip to Saluzzo. It is a very pretty town with lots of historical buildings to see. There is a bit of a climb to get to some of the places, such as the lovely San Giovanni church, but it is worth it, and the views are stunning.
Nearby there is the Abbey of Staffarda.
I found it really interesting to wander around it and the audio guide gives a great description of the building and the life of the Cistercian monks.
It is certainly not one of the best Abbeys I have ever seen but well worth the trip if you are in the area.
