We visited this afternoon and we're very lucky to come during the bi annual religious festival. Traditional Balinese music, traditional dressed parishioners, families picnicking etc. A really lovely atmosphere and while the high tide meant we couldn't visit the main temple, what a view of the wave shaped coastline. A lovely family experience.

Not what we expected and they make you pay for the entrance and we supposed to visit the temple also inside it, we arrived at the entrance of the Temple the make us pay also for "donacion" and once we did 3 steps, everything was closed and we couldn't visit anything.
Just a place to steal money!

Good place for group, but too busy for a family trip. I suggest to everyone not to come to this place in afternoon. But overall we like the place

We went during high tide, so we got a bit wet crossing the water to the temple. At the entrance you pay a "donation", where they'll quickly bless you and allow you to step around the corner. You can't go up very far though. Other than the temple there's not much else other than market stalls, but there's some great photo opportunities here.

The temple itself is beautiful and spectacular during sunset. It gets difficult to get to when the tide is high. There is very limited seating especially in the shade

Great experience! Beautiful temple and grounds to explore and take in the various nooks and crannies on offer.
The strangest thing we encountered was a cafe with 4 Luwaks, 2 huge bats and 2 cats, all in the same place, and most importantly with the freedom to leave at any time (they have all been reared since very young and I think are very happy with food on demand)!! Go up when you are walking away from the cave where you receive a blessing, drink some water and get the rice put on your head, and go find this little nugget. Special indeed.

I came here, via private driver, on a Tuesday in mid-December 2022. This is a MUST if you're ever in Bali - definitely worth the trek out here. It looks like something out of a video game. It was my first time seeing a temple on a beach like that. It's truly a unique Bali experience.
Unlike other temples, you do not need to wear a sarong since you'll be walking around the temples without going inside of them. There are two temples that were built in the middle of the beach. One that's right in front of the entrance and the other further south of the beach.
Make sure you bring cash to pay for your entrance ticket. Restrooms here were 3,000Rp. It cost 60,000 for each adult and 5,000 per car (but the lady at the booth didn't charge us for the car).

Well this place is quite interesting to look at but you can’t go in as the gate is shut you can take good pictures from outside and from up on the cliff but I’ll be honest it wasn’t really all the great and just a big avenue of stalls trying to sell you stuff

Located on sea shore, this place is a must visit as it is situated on the sea and has amazing views. The sea waves splashing on the rocks present a picturesque view.

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if it is a prerequisite to be religious when visiting temples in Bali? I am not religious (sadly I lost my spirituality when I was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease) and do not want to cause offense to local customs. I would also wonder if there is a dress code to adhere to? I would describe my general attire as fairly non revealing, but of course these things can be perceived differently by others.
Thanks in advance,

Hi brother. I will try to explain about your question. Actually any personality and any health conditions that you experiance, do not prevent you to coming in Bali at the tourist attraction of the tample’s like Tanah Lot. The tample beside the holy place is also one of the tourist attractions becouse of the beauty of its shape exotic natural beauty.
Indeed to visit a holy place like a tample must be dressed in a polite and appropriate because after all its the culture in local belief.
Even by coming there you can get a new experience to be more peacefull after returining from Bali. Peace of mind is one of the medicines that can cure any disease as long as you find a sense of peacefull and hapines, it’s one of Bali culture beliefs.
Thank you
Kindly regarsd from Bali 🙏

Although Grab is available in Bali but only in selective areas.
I really don’t know why?
Maybe because they wish to promote people hiring private cars & bikes.
Bikes are available just outside this place.

Hi!!! Is this temple closer to Seminyak? We'll be staying at kokonut suites and want to know the taxi charges to this place? Do they charge for foreigners?
Thanks in advance!!!

Easiest way around is to hire a driver, cost me $50au for the full day.
When going to TanahLot make sure you use your amenities before you go as they are filthy at the temple and you have to pay for the privilege

Hi.We are planning to visit Tanah lot temple in the evening during mid-February 2019. We also planned to see a 'kecak dance' after the temple visit. We want to take nice photos of the temple during the sunset. I gather that it is a rainy season. Can anybody tell me whether the rain may ruin our experience?
