During this period of closure we can offer coaching at Edge Golf Academy in Troia. Portugal's most advanced coaching environment and our twenty years of experience will make your lesson simple, understandable and enjoyable. We know it is a bold statement, but we will improve your game. "Never be too proud to take a golf lesson, I'm not" - Jack Nicklaus. Get in touch to learn more details. We are open Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm, and by appointment on Saturday and Sunday. If you would like to pop by outside of these times, give us a call and we would be delighted to ensure the Academy is open to welcome you. Additionally if you would like to go ahead and book a coaching session with us, please contact us and we will be delighted to help. It is advisable to book ahead due to demand.

I attended Neils short game boot camp and I have to say, with some additonal practise from me, this aspect of my game has improved. My putting especially has improved using a simple but very effective technique I learned at the camp. Can't recommend highly enough.

There is never any substitute for practice - but practicing correctly is vital. We are glad that you found the coaching on the Short Game Bootcamp useful and that you have seen positive changes in your putting. Great work!

Neil is a superb golf coach. His coaching set up with the video is excellent and it means he is able to identify immediately what is happening and provide expert guidance to improve your game and correct faults. His is patient , positive and very knowledgeable. I've had golf lessons from others over the years but no one has helped me improve so much so quickly. Lessons with Neil are something to really look forward to and enjoy. Highly recommended.

Neil has dramatically improved my game. Practicing the techniques taught by Neil, on a regular basis, is guaranteed to reduce your score, and enabled me to enjoy my golf. I would highly recommend taking a session of lessons (or even one!)

Neil has very interesting and unconventional teaching approach. His advice are on spot and put you on the right track. Regardless of your handicap he will improve your understanding of your game and ultimately your scores.
I was there with my teenage daughter for a week a we both enjoyed it very much.

Neil Connelly has been excellent in getting my game off the ground. Technically superd and very knowledgeable but patient and supportive when required. I am looking forward to more great coaching and have never made such progress with any previous coach.

I've had a couple of lessons with Neil now and have been impressed with his simple approach to teaching. He takes time to understand what you need and works out the best way to convey this to you as an individual. Very impressed and will be returning in due course.

We are delighted that you have enjoyed Neil's coaching style; we wholeheartedly believe that it is vital for the coach to know what the player is looking to achieve as well as what is possible to achieve. I have been using Neil’s coaching on and off for some years now. His depth of knowledge is first class but more importantly he explains the process.
I find it easier to retain tips, advice and instruction when I know how it has been arrived at.
Neil is very thorough and professional. Combine this with all the tech apparatus and teaching aids. A complete package and a joy to work with.

Very isolated from the main golf area, and tricky to get to even though it is only about 100m from adjacent hotel rooms. I had to leave a golf coaching session early as I was unwell. I asked to go through the gate into the hotel complex where I was a guest. The person in charge, a Scottish girl, refused. I had to walk about a mile in the sun, feeling unwell. Very poor attitude.

I am sorry you feel this way; if you had made us aware that you were feeling unwell, we would have been more than happy to accommodate you in our covered shaded area and offer you a lift to the hotel. The blue gate you refer to is a security gate and is kept locked. I am the "Scottish girl" in question and can only apologise if you felt my attitude was "poor"; again if you had made me aware of the situation I would have done my best to accommodate you the same as we do with all non-clients of the academy.
As for the "isolated" nature of the practice area; you were not actually a client of the Academy and your Professional must have requested the Academy end of the range for your group. Perhaps you should let them know your feelings in order that he does not request the facilities furthest away from the club house for you in future.

So, my boyfriend is really into golf and I was along for the ride on his birthday treat. I was not looking forward to this at all, however, what a joy it was. Neil is the ultimate professional, guiding and training my over confident boyfriend and nudging me along to ‘have a go’ and at least hit a ball.
I highly recommend Neil as a professional with the right personality to help anybody and his delightful wife Fiona who makes the extra effort to ensure everything runs smoothly.
We will be back.

Having never had a lesson before I was unsure if a coach of his caliber would want to spend his time on someone like me!
Not the case here at all!
Neil did not make me feel silly or terrible for having no knowledge of the game at all,he was encouraging and took time to explain all the little things about my swing that will help me move forward confidently. Receiving the video breakdown and recap of my lesson is great-I still go through and watch the first swing and compare it to the last swing as i can never quite believe how much better i am by the end of the lesson!
I also took part of a short game bootcamp - which i really enjoyed!
Neil's way of coaching has helped me so much and i know i will remember all the little things i was taught that will help me feel confident when the day comes to have a round of golf!
Highly recommend anyone wanting to better their game to give Neil a call!

Hi sorry for the delay. Depends on the individual child but the younger the better. We do short lesson for the younger ones since concentration tends to be shorter. The youngest client we have is 5. Hope this helps.

Hi my fiancé and myself are staying at Hilton Vialamoura between 7th and 14th May. We won't have our clubs - I'm 17 handicapper and not played for 6months due to back problem - Susan is virtual beginner although has had some basic tuition at local club.Looking for some tuition time over the week - can you help If so can you suggest and advise easiest way to find you. regards Joe and Susan

Hello - we would be delighted to help you with your coaching needs whilst you are in the area. The Hilton Vilamoura is around a 10 minute drive from us. I would advise asking the hotel concierge if their shuttle bus is running to Vila Sol and if not a taxi should cost around Euro 10 each way. I stayed at the hotel and at Palmyra town house, I can not quite understand why you had to walk a mile back to the hotel in the sun feeling unwell from the Academy. How did you get to the training centre? If you were feeling unwell and needed to get to the hotel as quickly as possible, if you walk up the right hand side of the course adjacent to the range, you have the cover of the pine trees and it is exactly 540 metres back to the hotel, Sorry to hear that you were feeling unwell, but I am sure if Fiona or Neal could have helped you I'm sure they would of.

Thanks for this; we appreciate you taking the time to write it. This reviewer was not actually a Golf Academy client although, as you say, if I had been informed of the situation I would have taken steps to do what I could to help.
