The church inside Monteriggioni was just lovely and so simply elegant compared to the many elaborate and audacious ones we’d seen on this trip. Located in the middle of the town square, you can’t miss it. With just a few pews inside and a simple...More

This simple medieval church is the central attraction in the walled town of Monteriggioni. We were fortunate enough to be there on a Sunday morning when the locals come out in their traditional regalia to give a lovely display.

Wonderfully decorated church located in the centre of the piazza in Monteriggioni. No charge to enter either and although simple is a nice place to sit in the tranquility.

Monteriggione's finest church.. goes back to the Middle Ages, days of knights, kings, castles and crusades...magnificent walled city has a festival every July to reminisce of medieval times. Photographers dream with great views in every direction.

A simple and beautiful church both outside and inside. A place with plain unadorned walls and low key decoration, a place of tranquillity and serenity, devoted to God not to show.

A visit to Monteriggioni is not complete without a visit to this small beautiful local church. Compared with the impressive churches and cathedrals in cities like Siena, Rome or Florence this church is very modest. But just because of this reason the Chiesa di Santa...More
