An experience! This was the first time I was visiting the place, many nice shops to buy locally produced glass, cersmics and metle handicrafts. All made in Norway by proud industries. You could buy many gifts items or household items here. Good quality and much cheaper than in the regular shops. Would certainly visit Hadeland soon :) Don’t forget to visit the pizzeria.

We visited here as a tour from a cruise, and were lucky enough that the trip was spectacular, everywhere covered in snow. Such beautiful scenery. The tour was minimal, but we were able to take part in some Glass blowing, and also to watch some being done. Actually doing the Glass blowing was great fun, I was told exactly what to do and how to do it. We got our Christmas Baubles at the end of the trip. Lots of time to look around, and a lovely meal was provided, the food was really tasty. Yes the glass is expensive, but there was a range of prices.

It is crazy to think that this place has been in business over 250 years and they get the sand nearby! We were there on a Saturday and the men were blowing a vase and ornaments. Unfortunately, it was the tour guides first day and she wasn't all the knowledgeable. They have beautiful pieces, but didn't buy anything because it is expensive and there are no little pieces that could be secured in our luggage.

This old glass factory offers both art, history, food, excellent glass products at a reasonable price, as well as an opportunity to see how the glass is being made by hand. A good place to visit through the whole year. I have been here many times and will come back.

We visited Hadeland as part of our cruise ship tour while in port at Oslo. The drive to get there gave us an opportunity to see the gorgeous Norwegian fiords and countryside. First stop was to see the glass blowing process. This was interesting to view but disappointing in that no commentary or explantation was given at all. Next stop was the cafe where we were treated to a delicious dessert and coffee which was eaten on an outside porch. We were then able to browse through the shops and stroll the grounds. Most of the glasswork here is of fine quality and quite expensive - no trinket glass pieces for souvenirs to be found. We engaged in conversation with a friendly gentleman in one of the shops who shared some Norwegian candy samples with us. Overall, the visit was nice but not what was expected.
