La chiesa di San Massimo fu edificata in stile neoclassico agli inizi della seconda metà del secolo XIX° sui resti di un precedente edificio di culto di dimensioni decisamente inferiori. La costruzione della nuova chiesa fu dovuta all'iniziativa del sacerdote Nicola D'Ambosio che tenne la parrocchia sino ai primi anni del secolo XX°. La chiesa si presenta in posizione elevata, come la precedente, rispetto agli edifici circostanti e ad essa si accede a mezzo di una gradinata ellittica. Nell'interno sono visibili alcune pregevoli statue lignee, due tele e diverse lapidi tutte risalenti al secolo XIX. La chiesa è intitolata a San Massimo, vescovo e confessore, che fu presule a Nola nel corso del secolo III° d.C.
