In my experience it is rare to find a moat with water still in it which was incredible. The amount of the castle still standing made it worth the visit.

Visited Nunney whilst in Frome. The village itself is very quaint and the castle is very impressive with a deep moat all around it. Walking round the village and exploring the castle in the sunlight was a excellent way to spend a couple of hours.

This is consistently voted one of the UK’s best castles and one I have been meaning to visit for nearly 40 years. On a recent trip back from Stonehenge I took a detour back home via Nunney castle. The castle is managed by English Heritage...More
