Ignorant and very rude staff and so use that term loosely. They are still charging £10.00 for a sub standard course with no facilities. It was like playing on a construction site. There was no one to pay initially but a builder said a chap would come round during the round however, a very rude woman walked across the green as I was playing my shot on the last holding out her hand whilst on the phone. This site should not be taking money at this precise time and should not be open for golf, no receipt was given so perhaps HMRC should also be informed. My first and certainly last visit.

Yesterday was unseasonably sunny for early February and a little exercise and fresh air was not without appeal. Having played with some regularity a number of local Solihull and Coventry courses Tidbury Green appeared to both my golfing partner and myself an attractive alternative. Having barely left the car we were 'welcomed' with the most aggressively rude reception I've ever received at an institution that purports to offer a public service. 'Whaddyawant?' from someone who claimed to be some sort of club official hardly seemed the most polite or sober of greetings. Perhaps the question was rhetorical although of two gentlemen attired in sporting gear with two sets of clubs and the associated accoutrements it was somewhat redundant. Slow to anger and equally reluctant to be rebuffed by such a dismal beginning I explained that we wished to use the driving range and see what we could of the course with the prospect of a future visit. This was met with 'Closed' and words to the effect of 'I don't believe you' but rather more succinct than that. What we did to offend, I guess, I'll never know. On the other hand, it's said, I suppose, that 'Every village has got one' and clearly Tidbury Green is no exception. In all fairness, the course looked magnificent and, contrary to other reviews, I'd heard very complimentary comments about the quality of the catering. However, given the circumstances we won't be back anytime soon.

Twelve of us arrived for a prepaid pre-ordered Christmas lunch, we were put on two separate tables which couldn't have been joined together. One of the group went to the bar and asked for a jug of water which was refused. The main courses arrived and after a few minutes the waitress came back and said that the orders had been mixed up so they were given to another party on another table. When the right food arrived, the plates were very hot yet the food was only warm and no one came back to ask if our meals were okay. Basically think that some of the waiting staff are too old and need to be replaced by younger staff. We will not be returning any time soon - most disappointing for the money paid for the meals.

Nice scenery and course layout. Challenging hole 3! Good country location. Need to improve sand traps by adding more sand, felt like concrete. Decent car parking and clubhouse. Good value for money on green fees.
