This is one of the most beautiful, although lesser known, mountain areas of Italy.
Unspoilt by ski resorts because it was once the hunting grounds of the Italian royal family.

I have been here since a was child. With my family i discovered all the Alpi Marittime and it is such an amazing place where you can walk inside the nature and meet few different kind of animals.
You have different walk from the more easy for family to the hard tracking. I had the fortune to reach the highest top mountain in Alpi Marittime and the view is great.
I advise to discover this area and stay few weeks holiday.

I knew the place in summer, but at the end of winter it becomes something different and unique. I would advise to be careful to select sunny days to visit it.

What a wonderful unspoiled area! Beautiful mountains, small lakes, wild animals... Off the beaten track.
You will find excellent mountain lodges within four hours walk. There is a wolf restricted area where you can actually see them. A small museum in Entracque a charming village. Good food in the restaurants in the area and friendly approach . More and more foreign tourists are discovering the area.

I spent more than 10 years going up and down the mountains of parco dell'argentera in summer and winter. higly suggested: rifugio morelli and questa, the argentera ascent, the beautiful alpine skiing opportunities in winter and the spectacualr "wolf museum". super nice and worth the trip!!

Pian Valasco and its mountain hut set in a restored antique hunting hut which belonged to the king dating back to the 19th century.
