This is one of the most beautiful, although lesser known, mountain areas of Italy. Unspoilt by ski resorts because it was once the hunting grounds of the Italian royal family.

I knew the place in summer, but at the end of winter it becomes something different and unique. I would advise to be careful to select sunny days to visit it.

What a wonderful unspoiled area! Beautiful mountains, small lakes, wild animals... Off the beaten track. You will find excellent mountain lodges within four hours walk. There is a wolf restricted area where you can actually see them. A small museum in Entracque a charming village....More
