- KathyAustria16 contributionsbest Fish'n Chips in town! This bar has great live music almost every day. The fish and chips are delicious and the selection of beer is nice too. If you want to have a bit more peace and quiet use the upstairs seating area!Visited May 2023Travelled soloWritten 17 May 2023
- Kelly0610Celbridge, Ireland14 contributionsI’m jealous of the locals having this on their doorstep!I absolutely love this pub, the vibrant atmosphere yet still relaxed and welcoming. The staff are very efficient and helpful and there is enough staff to attend to all the people. The food was lovely. The fish and chips was one of the best I’ve ever had and the wine was very tasty! I loved that dogs were allowed in the outdoor area. I noticed there is a live bar there, which I hope to go back to soon! The locals in Bray are lucky to have this gem so nearby!Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 September 2023

Formally an undertakers and now a quirky pub with occasional live entertainment. As with all places in Eire it's expensive by English standards and becoming more so since my last visit. It's in a great location for the promenade ad the Dart rail system is a short walk away.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 November 2023

- Raymond Hogan9 contributionsPerfect Spotfor a Wicklow Pint. This is a fine old building on the Bray harbour with various nooks and crannies ranging from outdoor picnic tables for the smokers to ideal venues for Irish music listeners, to quiet cornors away from the bustle for conspirators. The upstairs is a combination of an eccentric's attic and a large living-room: posters, statues, photo's, nick-knacks. We visited several times over a few months and noted a very low turnover of the attentive , helpful, friendly staff, which we saw as a sign of their contentment and satisfaction. Apparently, this bar was at one point voted the best in Irelan, and we thought, "Why not?" The Wicklow Wolf ales on tap could also grace any "best of" list.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 January 2024

Travelled out of the city for the Friday night Trad session. The plan was to have something to eat and stay for the session. The place was packed, but we were told to find a free table and someone would look after us. Finally found a table with no reserve on it, to be told by a rather rude and unpleasant server that the table was in fact not available. Back outside the security guard was really helpful with recommendations , so we went back towards town for food. Returning to the pub we sat down for the session. The players tried really hard, but it was so loud in the bar you could barely hear them and we were sat next to.
This is a fantastic pub, super Guinness and we will definitely go back, but unlikely to bother with the session, the players were very good and deserved better in my view.

Beautiful, interestingly decorated pub, comfortable inside or out. The staff is attentive but not intrusive, and helpful in choosing from a good assortment of brews.

Fantastic lively pub with impromptu live music and a fantastic atmosphere. Guinness was a 9.5/10. A must-see pub - every room has a different vibe - something for everyone.

Miniscule portions
Nice food, and nice atmosphere but the portions are tiny! €15 for a tiny amount of battered fish. There is no pub in Ireland that would serve up such a small portion.

Hi Eleanor
There is a large party of us (76) coming to Bray at the weekend for a 50th birthday celebration. Can the harbour bar fit that many people in besides the locals and do they have live music on a Friday & Saturday evening?

Hiya , yes Irish traditional folk music is played by a good band in the bar section, if you get bored, more contemporary style music is played in the lounge.
