Handy for a pop-in cuppa. Sat in general reception area, situated opposite Saltash Bowling Green. Ideal for tea and biscuits.

This is a welcoming friendly church. We came because we were staying with relatives who invited us. I had forgotten that places like this still existed. There was a mix of ages. I wondered how many of the youngsters would stick with it as they grew up. It is a late twentieth century building but most of the hymns and the addresses were in a vocabulary and manner that we never encounter in modern everyday life. If you are a Methodist or similar and are visiting this area I am sure that you would be well received. As rank outsiders we were treated very courteously and not treated to any hard sell.

Although churchgoing in England is reducing all the time, some Christian communities are more resilient and dynamic than others. For tourists or visitors this comparatively modern building works hard with it's friendly welcoming congregation to fulfil it's spiritual and community role. Not necessarily a concern but be aware that Methodism in Cornwall is still a good deal more old fashioned in it's approach and attitudes than elsewhere in the country. This Saltash church has a useful website.
