This golf course has some of the most amazing views you could ever hope to see.
Pro shop staff and facilities were top notch in every way. The course itself was in great shape except for the greens. The greens were horrible, slow and shaggy! They were literally some of the worst greens I have ever played on. And definitely the worst greens of any recognized golf club I have ever played.
The greens on any municipal golf course would be better in every way. I have dreamed about playing golf here since I was a kid and have never paid over $600 to play anywhere. When the staff knows that conditions are this bad they should reduce the rate significantly and should let you know what to expect. I have worked and played at courses that have hosted US Opens and played competitive golf since I was a teenager. So I feel very qualified to judge the conditions of any course and still can’t understand why the fairways were smoother that the greens. Every member of my foursome had similar feelings about the course conditions. So unless you what pay for the opportunity to take pictures, don’t come here.

The pumpkin pie was just so bad horrible plating too would not recommend. Other than that the golf course was great, great customer service!

This course is amazing with great weather. It can be windy during certain times of the year, but we had NO wind that day and sunny weather.

My husband calls every course whenever he books anywhere to check if they punch or sand the greens. And he focuses on weather conditions. To net, it was a great day of golf at this course.

Hadn’t been to Maui in 10 years and was excited to play this course for the first time. When I reached the first green I learned it was covered with a thick layer of sand. They all were. They had been sanded that morning, and whatever machine they used left scrape marks behind.
I understand greens need to be maintained. I don’t understand why I wasn’t told about it when I booked online or when I checked-in or even by the starter. I could have chosen to play somewhere else. Instead, I wasted $300 (wife ride-along was extra $65) and ruined a golf day.
Troon Golf used to be known for excellence. Now, apparently, they’re just interested in greens fees.

My teenage sons and I played a round at the Bay course. Extremely windy. The course has great views, and honestly, it was not too difficult. The three of us played 18 in 3 hours.

The Bay course was tough for me as a poor golfer. The views were nice. Negatives: it was very windy and raining that day and ultra expensive. Nice 17th hole over the water.

We were afraid if this place could live up to its billing but it did.

We did pick up the wrong day (rainy, 20+ mph wind) and were soaking wet for the latter half, but we did finish and enjoyed the course's awesome beauty that rivaled Pebble Beach's.

The pro-shop staff was friendly.

One suggestion to the management - Have side rain covers for the cart to shield players from the rain)

We played the Kapalua Bay course on November 29, 2021. Given the hefty price tag for the round, we're Canadian so the exchange really sucks, we were on the fence but after playing I can honestly say this is an absolute MUST DO!!. The views alone are worth the price of admission. The course was in very nice condition. I recommend teeing off later in the day so you can stop and take pictures without the group behind you freaking out about pace of play. If you can, try to get the last tee time of the day. There are many photo opportunities on EVERY HOLE! 16 and 17 are literally on the coast line and are unforgettable! Saving my pennies now to play again!! I'd post pics but I don't want to ruin the surprise. Unforgettable views.

My husband booked his time months in advance and was looking to play the Bay course but was all booked so we were fine with the Plantation course. We get their early, great and helpful staff, and they inform us that we were booked on the Bay course. To say we were excited was an understatement! I just rode along while my husband played, we were pared with another guest and had a really great time. Their wasn't a bad view the entire game!!!!! It had rained/drizzled most of the morning and about 30 min into the game but once done, there was a magnificent rainbow to be seen and beautiful photos were we were able to capture while golfing. Thanks for the wonderful experience. I know we will be back!!
