Warning this is a long post...but you need to read it if you are considering this “tour”. After reading most of the reviews for this we decided to try and book it. Our first clue that it was not reputable came when the phone number listed was not correct. We then tried to reach Kem via Facebook messenger and he responded that he was in fact available. Second red flag...when he met us at the pier Kem, our tour guide, started out complaining about not making money with only 2 fares, and having to rent the boat, then said something like, “but you still have to do it”. A 30 to 40 minute boat ride later (he was looking at his phone most of the time) we come to our 1st snorkeling spot (advertised for 3 locations, turned out to be one). I had been sick the night before so my husband was going in to snorkel and I would come in if it was good. kem handed him a snorkel and when my husband asked for a set of fins Kem told us they were all stolen when they left their box of gear on the beach and forgot to bring them back! My husband went in anyway and spent only 10 -15 minutes, saying the water was cloudy, most of the coral was dead (although a few bright spots), and almost no fish. Here and there random fish without tropical colors. Next Kem took us a short distance to the village and walked us around. While giving some information about the history, it was not that informative but actually turned out to be the best part of the “tour”. We are then taken to the sunset/dinner location with an hour and 15 minutes to spend BEFORE sunset. Kem has a soda with us and then says he needs to go to his home and will return at 6 pm. At 6:45 pm I message him asking if we should order dinner? 10 minutes later he responds that we should order and he will return shortly. We both decide on barbecued fish, this is a village that relies on fishing, 70%+ of the menu is fish, and we are told that they have no fish! Kem finally joins us at around 7pm, We say we are ready to go and he asks for the tour fees so he can pay for the meal. He then leads us to the boat, now on low tide sand bars, and tells us that the boat driver will finish the tour, he is staying at M’Pai Bay. Out of a 5.5 hour tour our “guide” spent maybe 2.5 hours with us. When he first started doing this I think he was enthusiastic, but now he just does it for the $$$. $60 in Cambodia is a lot of money. Please don’t waste yours.

We did the excursion at few days ago and honestly it’s a tourist trap, thinking how much means 30 dollars in Cambodia you can do so many other amazing things for this price. The guide had zero interest in being communicating with the guests and on the way back he even had more important things to do instead of finish the trip with us. The only thing that really worth is to swim with plankton, but that you can do for 5 dollars. Enjoy this paradise! 😉

It was a very good excursion spent with a local guide which is very interesting, as you can learn a lot about history and cambodian culture. Kem was really friendly, and we will for sure never forget him!! We did snorkeling, boat tour, watching sunset, planton swimming and had a very tasty dinner. I would definitly recommend this tour to everyone! Thank you Kem!
