Krilo manages to reduce a cultivated sea voyage to the level of a soulless flight. Unlike other reports here, there is no way to get outside during the voyage. You will get to see the Dalmatian islands through a window sprinkled with salt water. Perversely, the video screens constantly show advertisements featuring the beauty of the coast.
If you want to visit Dubrovnik as a day trip from Split, note that the old town of Dubrovnik is a 45-minute walk from the ferry port. (There are buses as well, for example line 1, but you might end up not being much faster.) In my case, the catamaran had about 20 minutes delay on arrival, which meant I had about two hours in Dubrovnik - not much for such a long trip.
My advice would be to just take a bus. It is much cheaper, and you also get a taste of the coastal scenery. Since the Pelješac Bridge has opened, it has become easy to avoid the border problems at the Neum Corridor.

Great staff at office in Gruz, left our bags there till departure. But boat was hot, no a/c, no wifi, and worst of all, no place to be outside. Efficient way to get from A to B, but not at all the scenic pleasure I thought it would be.

Service was on time and seats are comfortable, small snack bar for the 4.5 HR journey from Dubrovnik to Split. However, there is no outside deck and no WiFi no matter what the sign says. If I were to choose again I'd go by bus

Wanted to visit Hvar but did want to do an organised excursion so booked the ferry.
We chose the fast ferry which took 55 mins and cost approx £30 each return .
Hvar is lovely but not a great deal to do there. Visited the local beach which was beautiful which took about 25 mins walk~ pebble beach but beautiful .

Thrown in like cattle. No health, safety info or welcome. Tv not working to see the safety video. Rude staff. We encountered 4 staff. Three of them were full of unnecessary attitude. We were literally shouted at re where to store luggage and then we struggled upstairs, feeling embarrassed and unaware if we even understood. It was a very stressful start. Then, one man decided twice to tell my children (age 13 and 10) off for having shoes in chairs, when they actually did not. Totally unreasonable attitude and not tempered with any attempts at conviviality. Seats are huge but horribly uncomfortable. Definitely would not travel with them. Late arrival. Glad it was one way.

Left on time, lots of available seats - which were comfortable. Plenty of room to store luggage. Comfortable ride, arrived on time, seamless boarding and departure. Toilet on board. Nothing to complain about. It's a ferry, not a yacht - have realistic expectations.

We took this ferry Split-Dubrovnik. The boat itself was nice but there was not more than 5 seconds that someone was not coughing loudly (for a 5-hour trip). It legit felt like the beginning scene of a pandemic movie. No fresh air was filtered through and it was clear many became uncomfortable for the presence of a covid outbreak. I don’t say this lightly, but it was the first time in my travels I truly felt my health was at risk.

Would have been a good review as the trip was quick and easy but the crew chef decided to cut raw fish right next to us and blast his music. He then proceeded to cook fish for the rest of the journey which made the journey extremely unpleasant.

loved seeing the islands we stopped at. The boat is faster than the bus and much more comfortable. You can sit on top weather permitting or stay inside where it's warm and dry. There is spray on top at times. There is a place to buy coffee and prepackaged snacks. .

It is a shame that they cancel the trip and do not even notify us. They don't even send an email and they even continue to sell tickets for the boat at the moment. they assume that tourists have to follow them on social networks. they are very unprofessional and don't know the damage they can cause... we were about to lose accommodations and flights back home because the only way they use to notify a client is Facebook. They are the only bad experience that we have from Croatia, what a shame!

I booked online in advance. It was very easy to do

Does pre booking tickets guarantee you get on for the time you booked? Does that mean you have priority over those who haven’t booked ?

I didn’t prebook, just bought the tickets and had no problem.
The door opens 10’ before departure, so the policy is “first come, first served”
And it departs sharp!
There are no asignes seats and it’s very cold inside (at least in summer) because of the AC.
hi how much in £ is the kilo catamaran from split to dubrovnik or ferry in aug 2019 also journey times & should we book in advance

Hi, the fare is approx £25 per person (July 2019). The journey takes around 5 hours as the ferry stops in 4-5 locations on the way to Dubrovnik.
I would recommend booking in advance to be sure you have a seat. Arrive about 30 - 45mins before departure as the queue can be quite long.
It’s a nice journey with some views, the seats were quite comfortable. Bring food / water as there wasn’t much available as far as I could see.
My wife and I used the 07.30 service and it was quite quiet. We saw the afternoon ferry service the previous day and it looked a bit more busy with a long queue.
There is no shade either so it can get very hot waiting in the afternoon.

Hi, whats the best way to book these tickets in advance? We wnat to travel from Hvar to Dubrovnik. I was going to use bookaway site - reliable? Also, I will have a 7 month old baby - do I need a ticket for him? Thanks

Hi! But your tickets in advance because it gets crowded (at least in summer). The webpage is reliable. Print your tickets and have them with you. Get there 30 minutes before, to find the ferry. It departs very sharp.
I don’t know if you need a ticket for the baby. I assume the webpage will inform you about this.
Hi, I'm planning to take the ferry from Split to Hvar on Aug 26th and coming back to Split on Aug 27th. Does anyone know where the port is in Split and in Hvar? How many hours in advance do we have to be at the port to catch the ferry? Also, how do you tell the difference between a fast ferry and a slower ferry? I'm having troubles figuring that out on both the Krilo and Jadrolinija website. Many thanks!

Hi, the port ferry in Split is within walking distance of the Old Town and Diocletian's Palace.
I unfortunately don't know where the port is in Hvar, but you can google it.
You will need to be at the port to catch the ferry at least half an hour before departure, but you can find that out when you book your ticket.

Hi, I'm wondering what sort of views are available from the ferry? Another poster said they watched Netflix the whole time, so do I presume that there isn't really any view as you go? Apart from when you pull into another jetty/port.
Also, are the tickets numbered or first in best dressed for seats? Do the tickets need to be printed if bought online?
thanks!

Hi Kay,
There are no movies in the ferry. The views you will enjoy from the window are so beautiful you will forget about movies. I slept a couple of hours because I took the 7am ferry, so as I woke up very early that morning to get to the ferry, I fell asleep.
Buy your tickets online or you may miss the ferry. I traveled in summer and it was crowded.
Get there in time because it departs sharp.
The policy for the seats is first come, first served.
Bring along a hoodie or a jacket because the AC is very strong inside and it gets cold.
Have a nice trip!!

I am looking to travel from Dubrovnik to Split in July for 3 people. Does Krilo offer service from Dubrovnik to Split? I do not see this service on the website.

Hi, yes they do. It takes 4 1/2 hours
You can find the information if you google search Kapetan Luka. It will take you to the Krilo website where you can book tickets.
There is no direct route, so you will have to stop at various stops along the way.
