Beautiful ruins of roman bathhouse, very informative
Jul 2021
Very informative site, beautifully set up under a modern cover. Automated ticket booth, very easy, with reduction through our KONUS card (guest card). We were alone when visiting, so we could take as much time to admire the ruins. This combined with the on-screen computer animation of how the baths may have looked and worked, was extremely informative.

Extremely Impressive

Really enjoyed walking around the ancient roman bath, imagining that thousands of years ago, ancient romans were sitting there and enjoying themselves.

organised tours are held on regular intervals - your hotel gives you all necessary information - the ruins that were found date from Celtic times in the south of Germany

Beautifully presented

A lot of thought went into this presentation of ancient Roman baths in Badweiler. The engineers that built it were extremely talented. The renderings in the videos near the entrance of the city that was also here are truly remarkable.

Watch out for children interrupting the video by poking the control buttons (what is it with kids wanting to push any button they find - or their parents not controlling them properly?)

We had a wonderful tour of the Roman ruins, including a walk through the drainage system. It is amazing what they were able to do without modern technology.

Very interesting to see how advanced the bathing culture was more than 2000 years ago. The site has been well prepared to be visited the next 500 years also.
Entry fee, 2,50€ per Adult.

Well worth a hour of your time

It's pretty typical of most bath houses but has been very well excavated. Its most helpful asset is to be found immediately you have clocked in: turn right and view the excellent film (in English: other languages available) which explains all you need to know. Go back to it at the end if you need to. It would help if other key guides were translated as well. This is not Bath or Vindolanda but it is a positive and informative way of finding out simply what the Romans got up to - especially if it's a wet afternoon and you don't know what to do.

This is a hidden gem in southern Schwartzwald. Located in the center of Badenweiler inside a beautiful park, the ruins have been well excavated and are beautifully presented in an all glass structure. An audio visual presentation takes you back to the second century to visualize the Roman baths experience

We received a private tour for our group. Our guide was very knowledgeable and it was great to have someone tell you the history versus trying to read all of the displays. It is truly amazing what the Romans did in their time.
