We booked our 5 month old into the ESF for 6 full days. I was more than a little anxious as there weren't many reviews for the nursery and the ones I read were fairly negative. We were warmly greeted on the first morning by Marina and our daughter instantly loved her! The children have their own box for the week for their toys/nappies/bottles etc, staff record each child's feeding/sleeping/nappies and go through this with the parents at the end of the day. Our daughter seemed to love it and on the last day got really excited when we handed her over. I'd read a review that you aren't allowed to see the nursery and babies are handed over at reception, this is true but I think it would be chaotic if people were allowed to wander around the nursery and from a safety aspect I was happy only staff were behind reception. On one of the days our daughter was asleep and we were led through to the cot area to collect her so they certainly aren't trying to hide anything. 5-6pm on Saturdays during peak season you can visit the nursery, we decided not to do this as we had no alternative anyway but I believe this would give you the opportunity to view behind the door. Marina, Flo and Morane were superb with our daughter and I would have no hesitation using this nursery again and I hope my review eases other parents worries!…

We had our son of 3 months there last week. On the first day, they ask you to fill in a complete form, on which you also note the feeding rhythm for your baby. It feels strange that it is not possible to actually see the infrastructure as you 'deliver' your child over the counter to the responsible. They keep it very closed for strange eyes... 2 days in a row, they rang us in the afternoon, and asked to get him earlier, because feeding didn't work well, and he vomited (which he never does when we feed him). When we asked details, we heard that they just left hem a sleep for almost 6 hours before feeding. Of course he was very upset, crying a lot (they didn't understand why...) and agitated, which leaded to the vomiting... They also let him sleep in his maxi cosy, they didn't bother to put him in a bed (I presume the have them?). They pushed us to go to a local doctor to check for dehydration and mountain sickness..?! We are doctors ourselves, there was obvious none of those problems, but they didn't listen... They didn't like us to comment on their practices...When we asked them to follow the prescribed rhythm, no problems arose anymore... It looked professional, but I think it's better for older children. The 'nurse' was very young and didn't look experienced, the older one to full of herself to try to understand the problem was not the baby...…

The Mini club is a well run day care for your preschool skiiers. Staff are well trained and friendly. You can rest assured that your dear darlings won't mind you slipping away to attack the slopes whilst they find their feet on the slopes. Expect gentle progress rather than gruelling coaching.…
