Definitely worth going to see, we bought the three day ticket which gives you access to several sites in volterra over a three day period, well worth the money.. and don't miss the walk around the walls overlooking the theatre

The excavation site is located at the north side of the city, just to the west of Porta Fiorentina. The old Roman theatre is well-worth the closer visit, although you can have very nice and detail look on it from the road that leads above...More

Site of roman theatre is relatively complete including some standing pillars. There is a book available on the excavations on the site. Good views from above.

No need to pay to enter as this view is part of the grand panoramic view from the road above. As with all Roman ruins a fair amount of imagination required

You need to know to go here but it's quite wonderful. Not the biggest you'll ever see but wonderful. And if you are rushed for time, you can see it from above which all lays it out in front of you.

The vast majority of the site can be viewed from above but, for the few Euros extra it's worth walking down to the site and walking around. This isn't the most impressive Roman site, but still important and for those interested in history, it will...More

On a warm night, you could easily imagine actors, spectators coming in and out of this place, and in the surroundings, the lively activities of a Roman city. Really inspiring

This wonderful ancient Roman theatre can be viewed at ground level but is spectacular from above and well signposted how to get there. Well worth a visit as is Volterra

Great look into the past. Walking along the seats of the theatre you’ll wonder how people used to enjoy their local legends perform. It’s interesting to see the structures people used to build back before Christ.
