Volterra is surrounded in history, and this is a great site from the Romans. Not a lt in terms f exhibits to go along with it, just some informational signs scattered around, but definitely worth a visit for the modest fee.

Volterra is a great town to visit in Tuscany and the Teatro Romano was an awesome site which can be viewed for free from the above walkway but reasonable cost to go in an walk around.

This humongous Roman theatre dates back to the 1st century BC. Let that sink in, it's just unbelievable. I read it was used as a trash dump for centuries, since excavated; even the names of the rich, Volterra family names that had this place built...More
