We visited Calabria end of October 2018. We were lucky with the weather, since day temperatures were around 23 degrees. On a sunny day we were enjoying on the beach. Some people were still swimming. The only negative side was, that many restaurants and shops...More

If I had known how beautiful Tropea was, I would have gone there years ago. It has it all - charming buildings, wonderful food and bars and shops, beautiful crystal clear water beaches, and views from the tops of the cliffs that are just gorgeous....More

Lots of nice restaurants, a few breathtaking viewpoints and two wonderful beaches - in town. For longer stays, Tropea might become a little boring.

Beautiful beach and a very cool old town with lots of little alley ways to meander thru. It is very apparent that they don’t want outsiders to know about there little piece of paradise. While some establishments were very welcoming others not so much.

White sandy beach with stuning panorama and clear clean beaches. Really!! You can see fishes swimming around you. Great bars and alot of restaurants and shops. Its a place I called unforgetable. Perfect for family vacation.

There are not only boat trips along the coast, but also day trips and multi-stop trips to Stromboli and the other Aeolian islands. I recommend to spend at least one night in Stromboli and maybe also a day in Vulcano.

I'm a woman, travelling alone. Yesterday I visited Tropea and I find it perfectly safe. No refugees in sight.

Yes, I agree. May is very nice in Tropea, so I would at least plan for the end of April (or May if you can). April things like the beach will still be closed and some stores will not yet be open. The weather won't be cold... More
